About Facial Wash

Using the same soap that you use on your body to wash your face isn’t always the best course of action. After all, the skin on your body is a bit different from the skin on your face—your face has more sweat and oil glands, for instance. That’s why it’s important to buy a separate cleanser for your face.

To help you choose the right facial wash, here are some tips:

  1. Like most other skin care products, it’s important to select the cleanser that’s right for your face. For example, if you have dry skin, it’s best to avoid facial washes that contain alcohol. Those with oily skin should go with one that has a low pH level or have foaming properties to wash away excess oil without irritation. Meanwhile, if you have sensitive skin, you have to go for fragrance- and soap-free cleansers to prevent irritation and breakouts.

  2. As the name suggests, cleansers are created for cleansing. Don’t continue using a cleanser for its purported benefits if it dries or irritates your skin. If this happens yet you don’t want to miss out on anti-aging or brightening benefits, it’s better to purchase a separate serum for use on your face. This doesn’t skipping cleansers with all those add-ons, however; dry skin can benefit from cleansers with shea butter. It only means that if a cleanser becomes irritating, it’s time for a change.

  3. Skip the brush, go for exfoliating ingredients instead. While exfoliating is essential for keeping skin clean, that doesn’t mean you should rub a towel on your face every day. It is better to simply get a facial wash that contains exfoliants, such as salicylic or glycolic acid. And they offer fringe benefits, such as preventing breakouts. Better yet, you can alternate an exfoliating facial wash with a gentle cleanser to avoid irritating your face
