About Powder

Powders are among the most versatile tools you have in your makeup kit. They either come as pressed powders (in familiar compact containers) or less often as loose powders. Here are some key points about powders.

1.) Ease of use, or versatility? Pressed powders are definitely easier to use, as the grains of the actual product are packed more closely together, making it really easy to apply and get a strong effect. You can do the same with loose powders, though it may take a bit more work. Loose powders, however, are the better choice if you’re going for a more transparent look.

2.) Gals on the go love pressed powders. They’re definitely less of a hassle to carry around, and you can apply them virtually anywhere. Loose powders are better suited for the home or studio.

3.) Silky or strong? Because of how they’re composed, pressed powders can also be used as a foundation and many people use them as their primary foundation product. They give a much stronger effect that’s quite readily apparent. Loose powders, on the other hand, give a silkier look that tends to be more suited as a setting powder to complete a look.
