About Powder Blush

A powder blush is a staple of a classic makeup kit. However, many women still have not mastered how to apply it. To help you achieve blush mastery, here are 7 tips that you can employ for your everyday look:

  1. Powder blush is best for oily and combination skin types. If you have dry skin, go with a cream blush instead. Powder blush can look flaky on those with dry skins; cream blushes have more moisturizing properties as well.

  2. You can mix powder and cream blush for great results. Not only can it make skin look more luminous—the mix also stays on skin longer than just powder alone.

  3. Use a full brush. While most blush palettes come with small brush, it’s better to use a full blush brush for a more seamless application. They’re much easier to handle and clean, too!

  4. Don’t forget to tap. By tapping excess powder blush off your brush before running on your face, you prevent putting on too much blush and prevent wastage.

  5. Always make sure to shade and blend well to avoid looking like a clown. There are many techniques that you can employ to add color to your cheeks. These include the “dolly” technique, contouring, natural flush, and of course the standard way of applying blush.
