I was looking forward to trying this product. As someone who isn’t fond of layering on multiple makeup products on my skin, I figured tinted SPF would be a great option for me. It can provide light coverage and provide sun protection so what’s not to like?
BLK’s Illuminating Skin Tint had the same promise but the finish was too dewy to my liking. It also has some shimmer that stays even after wiping off the product with makeup remover. When I swatched it on my hand, I noticed that Vanilla Glow was a tad bit more tan than how it appeared on official swatch photos. It looked lighter on my face compared to the back of my hand but it still didn’t match my tone. It made my face noticeably more toasted compared to my neck and body! The formula has a bit of texture as well but I couldn’t decipher what the fine grains were for. It smells like typical SPF but I don’t mind that at all. What’s more concerning for me is how my skin already felt so oily even before I even got the chance to finish putting on the rest of my makeup.
I wanted to like this product especially since I have a teammate who loves it but it’s unfortunately not for someone who is fair and has oily skin. I think it would better suit those with medium-tan skin.
P.S. Photos appear less saturated than the product's true colors.
I was skeptical at first to buy such a pricey item because often time they don't pay off with the quality. However, this product is worth ittttt. It looks like your skin but way better. It doesn't feel greasy either. Although, I do not like the micro sparkles in it.
The smell is so weird. I wished BLK went for fragrance free instead. It has like a shimmer/glitter effect that makes my skin more ashy than illuminating and it's NOT a good look. This would've been so much nicer if there wasn't shimmer in it. It doesn't make sense when sunscreen already has that dewy effect.
I like this better that the first one they released. The illuminating effect is subtle and nice. It gives off a nice finish. It’s like a bb cream with some subtle glitter and sun protection. All in one product. Will repurchase once it’s out. But will maybe take a while since there’s so much product in this bottle.
