Flip open the unit and press the power button for five seconds. Shine light within 1/4 inch of the surface to disinfect. Hold for a few seconds, and move light slowly, so it illuminates the area for at least 2-3 seconds. Move the lamp to the next section and proceed until entire item is disinfected.
