An Uber Shy Sweetener

Lucuma powder is a very shy sweetener: it needs a whole lot of coaxing for it to assert its sweetness. Translate: use a lot of it to taste the difference. This is something I have not tried and will rather not try to find out. (My protracted bout with candida has made me forswear all sweetness.) I limit our intake to half a teaspoon a day. So why do I still use lucuma? Only for its nutritional benefits. For the wellness it brings, it earns five stars.
