Although Dermalogica was established in 1986, their story began three years earlier when the founder, Jane Wurwand, decided to put up the International Dermal Institute (IDI). Back then, it seemed like everyone just wanted pretty skin, but Jane made it her mission to teach people how to get healthy skin. The IDI was an instant hit, and following its success, Jane decided to create a line of products to complement her healthy skin philosophy. Today, Dermalogica is the No. 1 choice of skincare professionals worldwide—and with their no-frills approach to creating spectacular products, we’re sure they won’t be giving up the top spot anytime soon.

Thumbs up!

At first I was surprised that it did not have any micro beads in it. I was not used to exfoliating products without them so I was a little bit skeptical about this product. But when I started really incorporating this Dermatologica Gentle Cream Exfoliant in my skin care, I was amazed how it brightened my skin.

Gentle, Gives Smoother Skin, Expensive

I've been using this for about a year now, and I find that its claims of being gentle and non-abrasive are true. It's a smooth cream (with no scrubby bits) that you leave on the skin for about 10 minutes, then rinse off. I don't experience any stinging/itching with it on. I have very dry, flaky, sensitive skin, and I see the effects of this product the day after use- my skin is noticeably less flaky, its overall texture feels smoother, and my skin is less dull. It can be a little drying though, and sometimes a zit hiding under the surface can sprout out after use. It's also expensive. I think it's nice to try for dry, sensitive skins. I'd buy it again, if I had a discount. :)
