Better than coco jam

Consistency is thick and more natural than those available in the market. However, since this one is organic, expect that you can taste traces of sourness that a coconut product produces. Thus, I still put it in the refrigerator for storage even the label says that it doesn't need refrigeration.

An acquired taste

My sister received this as a freebie and she gave it to me. It doesn't taste sweet like the regular coco jams in the supermarket. I agree with the others, it tastes like latik. Also, it doesn't taste good with all kinds of bread. It tastes better when used as a pandesal spread but a little weird when used in a loaf. In the end, this is a product that just grows on you as you continuously consume it. It's like a song that you're uncertain if you like it or not then suddenly you want to listen to it all the time. Since this is a healthy alternative to the regular sugar saturated coco jams and since I've grown to love it, I'll buy some more. Give it a try.

Latik in a jar

This product is definitely natural from the smell, texture and taste. Perfect with bread and coffee in the morning. :) It taste a little too sweet for me but Its still good. The taste and texture of this product reminds me of my childhood for some reasons hehehe. I highly recommend this for people looking for native like, natural sweetness.

Reminds me of suman. Tastes good!

I was never a fan of coco jam. I find the smell a bit weird. So the first time I got to try this from BeautyMNL. First time I've tried this, I thought about suman or biko and something you put as a filling or on top of it. So I like that because I don't really know how to make that. At first I just ate this on its own for my sugar craving. It was good. I just ate it on its own. I could taste the salt also and I like that. The only thing is, I don't like it with bread. I prefer to have this on maybe rice cake or suman. Not bread though. It tastes weird for me.

Salty and Sweet

Unlike the typical coco jam, this has a creamy texture (not sticky) so it's really spreadable. The sea salt makes a difference in the spread - it's give that warm almost caramel flavor into the coco jam. It's not sweet but if you like salted caramel this might be a "local" alternative. I would say that it's not the best partner with regular white bread but this is great for suman or puto.

Healthy coco jam

I agree with the other reviewer here that it tastes like latik; that was also my first thought when I tasted this for the first time. The consistency is thick and dense but easily spreadable. It's not too sweet because of the sea salt. I noticed a slight tangy taste, probably because they used coconut nectar instead of sugar. This is a good coco jam alternative for those who need to control their sugar. Though honestly, I personally prefer the sweeter - albeit less healthy - ones.
