Perfect for latik-lovers
Growing up, I loved coco jam, so I was pretty excited about this. The texture is pretty different from the grocery store brands, though I'm not sure if that's a pro or con. While store-bought cocojam is sticky and/or runny, this has more of a pulpy/paste-like consistency. This makes it very spreadable and means it doesn't turn solid in the fridge. It basically tastes like latik, which I love. It does have a bit of sourness to it though, and that might turn some people off. Another possible deal-breaker for some is the oiliness. You can taste the coconut oil if you have a sensitive palate. Even though it should be expected given what it is, this really isn't present in store-bought brands. And I don't know if it's because I put it in the fridge first, but the oil separated a bit, which doesn't look that appetizing (according to my husband anyway, I still liked it). Anyway, the smell is just divine and I'm thinking about just straight up treating it like latik and slathering it on some suman.
