Better as a Snack
I've tried this as a rice substitute but none in our family liked it. We cooked it according to package directions, it takes a while longer than other grains. It was like a hard garbanzo and quite dry. But as a snack, it was fab! This is better than popcorn because it's healthier. We use the microwave. We put 1/4 cup into a brown paper bag, with our microwave the perfect time would be 2 to 3 minutes on medium high heat. I had to test it out 3 times to get the best result, I suggest you do the same too. Then I pour the cooked sorghum popcorn into a bowl, mix in some extra virgin olive oil and sea salt. Healthy Yummy! Even the small ones that don't pop can be eaten and are not as hard as those popcorn kernels. Also one good thing, you know that annoying popcorn hull that gets in between the teeth? There's none of those with the sorghum. There's so much in a pack of this ang it's so worth it. I also make this for my kid, so much healthier than junk food. Sometimes I mix parmesan, curry powder etc etc. There's no limit to what flavor you can come up with.
