The Pro and Con-tour

I’m a complete beginner in proper make-ups, but have been vying for proper, JeffreyStar-esque looks for quite a while. I bought this palette because 1) its cheap and 2) it serves my purpose because I was going to a wedding and I wanted to be FleEk. As other reviews point out, the contour is amazing; good pigment, matte, and (in my opinion) had just enough fall out to convince me the powder was getting on my cheap, synthetic, hello kitty brush. Definitely served my purpose well and was actually easy to blend on my cheeks, forehead and nose. The highlight was pure chalk, as advised by others who’ve bought this palette before me, but it wasn’t all bad. As a beginner I found it easy to overdo the contour, but diffusing the packed, dark pigment with the ‘highlight’ made it perfect, sometimes damping the contour down to a bronzer-ish kind of look. Doing this didn’t make it shiny and kept the finished look matte, because as mentioned the highlight was chalk so overall it was a good buy. Minus one star for disappearing after 12 hours though ;) !

A Good Starter Contour Palette for Beginners

I don't contour very often as I find it time consuming so I mostly reserve it for special events/occasions. On top of that, I sometimes feel like I don't really get it right despite the numerous attempts to recreate tutorials I've watched online. That being said, I do find that this palette is a good place to start for beginners and those still mystified by contouring techniques. It's simple and straight to the point with just two colours. The contour shade gives off just the right amount of pigment with one swipe which diffuses quite easily onto the skin (I can totally understand why this might frustrate more advanced make-up enthusiasts though). This is perfect for beginners to practice building up the pigment and gaining confidence, rather than getting overwhelmed by a sudden shock of colour. The highlighter is a bright white and I initially assumed that it would be horrendously chalky. However after applying it and dusting off the "chalkiness", it left a very subtle sheen that I think is appropriate for everyday wear. Overall this is an affordable, easy-to-use palette that I enjoyed playing around with.

Very pigmented!

Wasn’t really expecting anything from this product. I bought this because I wanted to practice contouring (haha). It surprised me with its size and how pigmented it is! Been using mine for 7mos. now and I haven’t even reached half of it yet! The contour definitely suits warm or cool skin tones. Used this when I did my sister’s and my friend’s makeup. The highlight is perfect for under eyes but kind of has a flashback on the pictures. It does look good tho. Like a Kim K vibe to it. Plus, this stays all day even if I sweat. Definitely worth the try!

Meh

I didn't like this product. It was powdery and chalky and did not give off a lot of pigment. It has a tendency to scatter and fall out from the brush, and when you do manage to build it up, the color is a teensy bit off and kind of makes my face look dirty (I have light medium skin). It also doesn't last very long. :( The white "highlight" shade is virtually unusable, especially for people who are not mestiza, which is the majority of Filipinas. Overall, I think you may find other locally made contour kits that would work better than this for the money.

matte contour kit!

I looooooooove this kit. It gives good contouring without looking greasy. I have oily skin so I absolutely cannot play around with those shiny highlighters. The highlighter of this kit is matte. I blends like one of Kim Kardashian's matte under eye setting powder. If you are looking for a matte make up look to avoid looking greasy this is the one for you. The price is unbelievably affordable

Brown shade = contour on fleek!

The brown shade of this set of mine as already hit the pan (hehehe), as it was my ultimate contour run-to! I actually even use it for the crease of my eyes and for nose lining, sometimes even shading my brows when I want it just light and natural-looking. Not really a fan of the white shade but it could be a good setting powder for my under eye after I put on my concealer.
