Cute packaging, gorgeous shade but not so lovely application :(
Lip tints and stains can be a pain to apply especially if you're the type with eternally dry lips. More often than not, the product ends up looking patchy with pigment sinking into the cracks and flakes of your lips (not to mention a really pink or red finger if it's the type that doesn't have an applicator). Thankfully, this product solves these problems with its foolproof, uniquely shaped applicator and good but not quite excellent color payoff. I got the shade George (not 'Georgia', BeautyMNL please do correct the label on this page) mainly because I was looking for a deep, nude tint that wasn't the usual cherry red. Upon first swipe, I felt that the product applied too thinly (like a tinted balm) but a 2nd layer did the trick and boosted the color's opacity. On my pigmented lips, George registered as a gorgeous, deep, brick red bordering on an ox-blood shade. Unfortunately, it did cling to some of my dry patches but it wasn't as bad as how other waterbased tints emphasized the dryness. A good thing about it was that it didn't have a stinging feeling when applied (I remember the first wave of Revlon's Just Bitten Balms that stung like a lemon on the lips and Skin Genie's Stain Alive that felt really harsh too despite its sweet scent). I like that it also doesn't have a strong, cloying scent too (smells kind of like strawberry). Such a shame that its staying power was so-so. What I didn't like most about this product was its felt tip applicator. Although it's truly unique and makes for precise application, it somehow feels a bit flimsy and delicate, as if it will lose its shape after several uses. All in all, I doubt I will repurchasing this product as soon as I run out.
