I loved my first Colourpop-- ColourPop Minis (Foxy Set), that when I saw this one I didn't think twice and bought it. The Lippie pencil broke easily and I was very gentle on it because it did looked fragile and still it broke on first application. It ruined my mood for the other lippies. But still I tried to give the others a chance, and sadly it didn't. The lippie pencil are less matte and less dry-looking compare to the liquid lipsticks but it transfers a lot, though it the color stays on my lips-- the messiness it left ain't my thing.6 months ago
Hot to Trot is one of two mini lippie stix/lippie pencil sets ColourPop released last 2016 and discontinued last year. It contains five mini lippie stix and five mini lippie pencils combined into one mini stick with a double end. The lippie pencils are curated to complement their partner lippie stix.
Cami + Bound: Bound is almost the same shade as Cami making it the perfect lip liner to go with this classic dusty mauve. It can be worn on its own, actually. Cami, as alway, is utter perfection. It’s the perfect pinky nude to wear everyday.
Cookie + Skimpy: Skimpy is a warm beige nude. It appeared light on me but not to the point of making me look sick. It’s a nice nude color that you can wear every day. Cookie is a pale beige nude, and on me, looks terribly light. I don’t think I can pull this color off because it makes me look deathly pale. It has a matte finish but it felt sticky and tacky.
LBB: LBB is a beautiful plummy red. You can’t deny the beauty of this rich red violet. It’s dark, yes, but not in the vampy-gothic sort. It’s actually pretty chic and sophisticated. But I managed to pull it off wearing jeans and a t-shirt. Next time, I’ll wear more formal clothes when I wear this lippie. 😁 And just an FYI, this shade is actually one of the earlier collabs done by ColourPop with a beauty blogger. They did the collab with the blogger LittleBlackBoots. In fact...most of their bestsellers and permanent shades of lippie stix are products of collaborations with beauty bloggers. Ellarie, Creature, Lumiere, Aquarius, just to name a few.
Chateau + Dukes: I’m going to be honest...I did not take this one out for a test run. I just swatched it. It was just too dark to wear to work. 😁Dukes is one of the fall colours last 2016. It’s a dark blackened red. It can be worn alone because it’s so pigmented. The lippie pencil, surprisingly, did not break while I was using it. It has a smooth glide and did not bleed or tug at my lips. Chateau is one of the first shades that ColourPop released when they made the Matte X formula permanent. Unfortunately, it’s also a shade that ColourPop discontinued last year. It’s a deep blackened red that screams vampy. On me, it looked absolutely, positively wicked. If I want to dress up as a villain, I will definitely reach for this lippie. I like this color, actually. It’s the darkest out of all my reds. But it’s too dark to wear to the office, especially if there’s a dress code. So I just swatched it and grab a different shade to wear.
Trust Me + Bossy:Bossy is described as a classic red in ColourPop’s website. And I agree 100%. Bossy is a rich red that really made me think of the vivid red lipsticks stars wore way back when. This liner has a matching lippie stix of the same name but I think it matches Trust Me very well. Again, the pencil broke when I applied it even if I was really careful. The vivid color also made me feel like I was literally coloring my lips. It did tug a little when I applied it but it went on pretty smoothly the rest of the way. Trust Me is really pigmented and the redness is not that striking; but it is bold enough to make a few heads turn. Just like my full sized Trust Me, this mini one is also a bit cakey. It tends to settle on lip lines on make them more prominent. It’s also a bit trying so proper lip prep is a must. It also stains when it smudges so you need to be careful.
I’ve always wanted to try Colourpop, so when I saw that this was available on BeautyMNL, I immediately purchased this. I love how it’s dual ended; with a lippie stix and lippie pencil on each side. They’re also very pigmented which surprised me, however; what I don’t like about it is that it becomes very drying on your lips after an hour. They also break easily! So you have to be careful to not exert too much pressure while applying these lippies. The colors also disappointed me a bit because they don’t look similar to the swatches I saw online. :-(8 months ago
