Not amazing, but cheap
I bought this serum with the intention of hydrating my skin as well as calming it since those are the main claims of aloe vera and also saving my money at the same time. I liked the idea of a “serum” type of aloe vera because I noticed that aloe vera gel would usually create a film on top of my skin which would peel off (like libag) when I would proceed to rub or spread my other skincare products. In my head, a serum is something that has a very thin consistency, almost like water, and if it was a little thick it would be as thick as saliva or oil which is why I was very surprised when I received this serum in my order. The consistency was not serum like at all. It was actually too thick to be called a serum. It’s consistency was almost like a regular Aloe Vera gel but a little bit more runny. Its thick consistency made it hard to dispense the product through a dropper. It was too thick to be sucked into the dropper and when I would dispense it on my palm, it would come out as a big clump (like a dollop of moisturizer) and not even in drops. The product also stuck to the walls of the dropper making it difficult to get every peso that I paid for the product and use up every mL of the product. Also, it is very very fragrant and my skin is sensitive to highly scented products. I finished the product within only two months (using it daily every AM). As a comparison, my Propolis Myrrh Ampoule from Elujai with the same amount (15mL) lasted me much longer also with daily AM use. Lastly, it cannot substitute moisturizer but it can *lightly* hydrate the skin (Note that hydrate and moisturize are different). If you really want to use Aloe Vera in your skincare, just get a regular tub of Aloe Vera gel. It would last you really long (up to a year) and it’s multipurpose. Just get the smallest amount and spread it all over your face to get the same instantly hydrated and instantly absorbed effect of a serum. Bottomline is, this is just your regular Aloe Vera gel with fragrance and packaged in a dropper bottle that doesn’t even dispense the product properly. Sooperbeaute should consider changing the packaging maybe to a pump and adding more vitamins to the product so that it’s more than just an Aloe gel.
