”Not one to write reviews but I love this serum so much I had to. I have extremely sensitive, acne-prone skin. I first tried the Niacinamide + Zinc combo via Glossier for ~quadruple the price, half the bottle, and an almost water-like texture (not what I prefer personally). These ingredients really REALLY cleared my skin of hormonal, cystic acne without being too harsh like other acne targeting products tend to do (Salicylic, Benzoyl, Retinol etc) but the Glossier serum specifically dried me out.”

”In addition to clearing my skin, The Ordinary’s version of this serum made my skin SO SOFT and also evened out my skin tone A BUNCH. The texture is a little bit thicker and sits and sinks into my skin so well. I use this at least every other night, and NEVER mix with Vitamin C products, as Vitamin C + Niacinamide can cancel each others’ effects out. After using for about ~3 months, I love my skin and can even leave the house without wearing any makeup. THANK YOU DECIEM FOR CREATING MY HOLY GRAIL <3”

WHAT YOU GET: (1) Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
INGREDIENTS: Aqua (Water), Niacinamide, Pentylene Glycol, Zinc PCA, Tamarindus Indica Seed Gum, Xanthan Gum, Isoceteth-20, Ethoxydiglycol, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin

Formulations are updated from time to time as part of our commitment to innovation. As such, the ingredient list shown here may vary from the box of the product depending on time and region of purchase.

Apply to entire face morning and evening before heavier creams.

Contraindications: If topical Vitamin C is used as part of skincare, it should be applied at alternate times with this formula (ideally Vitamin C in the PM and this formula in the AM). Otherwise, Niacinamide can affect integrity of pure-form Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid).

Notes: While Niacinamide and Zinc PCA can reduce the look of blemishes and balance visible sebum activity, neither is a treatment for acne. For persistent acne-related conditions, it’s recommended you use Benzoyl Peroxide and/or Retinoic Acid. DECIEM doesn’t recommend ongoing use of BHA such as Salicylic Acid for persistent blemishes. For temporary improvement in appearance of blemishes, Salicylic Acid would help. This formulation can be used alongside acne treatments if desired for added visible skin benefits.

Independent studies suggest Niacinamide is also an effective ingredient for brightening skin tone.

Totally worth the price.

I have been using this product for more than a week already (2x a day) and I have immediately seen that it has lightened my blemishes and made may skin less oily throughout the day. I haven't really noticed that it made my pores look smaller though. But, for the price of this product, and the amount that you need for each application, it is totally worth it.

SERIOUSLY GUYS, this baby makes my skin brighter, shrinks my pores, and helps prevent breakouts!! Aaand it made my acne scars (and craters!) lighter and look less prominent. It made me achieve that "soft focus" and seemingly filtered looking skin that I only used to DREAM of omg and I already bought two more back up bottles!!!

Mattifying Magic!

When I first got this product, I tried it on before going to bed. The next day when I woke up, I didn't have oily skin like I used to. Since then, I have been using it every single day and it really helps my skin to not be too oily and make my makeup stay longer. My only drawback to this is that you need to use it sparingly since you only get 30ml of the product.

The best thing for sensitive, oily, acne prone skin

Last year, I was suddenly obsessed with skincare and bought a bunch of products from The Ordinary, including this product. The entire skincare regimen cleared up my acne and improved the texture, but it was a lot of work and a lot of products. I wasn’t able to keep it up, so from full 10-step skincare routine, I went to no skincare routine at all. Then I started getting bumps on my forehead, clogged pores and active acne on my cheeks, and hormonal acne along my jawline. I tried a bunch of acne-targeting products but they just ended up being too harsh and made my skin even worse. I switched to a gentler routine with a mild face wash, witch hazel and aloe vera only, and my skin started responding. I reintroduced this serum in my day routine, and it was absolutely the cherry on top. I think the reason my old routine worked so well was just because of this! With just 2 weeks of use, it healed my acne, controlled my sebum production, cleared up the bumps on my forehead and my clogged pores, and I haven’t had a new breakout in over 10 days, which is A LOT for me. Since my pores are decongested and my sebum is at bay, my pores also look more refined and my skin feels smooth. If you have really oily, sensitive and acne-prone skin, and you haven’t found your solution yet, give this a try, because it just might be your holy grail.

Good product !

Lessened congestion on my chin and forehead. It has a tendency to pill though. I usually use it in the evening together with my Mizon Black Snail Cream which has niacinamide too. Together they make for a great skin clarifying and healing cocktail. Never use this with straight up vitamin c as they cancel each other out. I am looking to try it Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate though which is a derivative and may be used with it.

I ordered this product July 4 and got it on July 11. Used it July 12-13, once per day. Many people are raving of it being their holy grail but unfortunately it's not for everyone. First application I felt mild itching in different parts of my face which I thought as maybe normal as it's only my first time using it. Then, on my second application, the next day there again were mild itching but I was in a hurry I didn't stay long before the mirror. After 4hours I used the comfort room and lo and behold my face had patches of red bumpy skin. I washed my face with water but the redness didn't go away. Now on the third day I woke up with swelling in a small part of my inner left eye area. I still have the red bumps and itch in addition to my now coarse face. I wanna cry but it will only make my eye swell more. 😓 I use this product in the morning after washing my face and 30mins to an hour before my moisturizer. I'm not sure if the reaction was brought about by the niacinamide or the zinc but please learn from me; before fully using new products, always do a patch test first.
