Smells Good & Makes Fried Food Yummier!
After a long wait because of lack of stocks, I finally got my hands on one kilogram of pure flour goodness without any harmful bleach! For a first impression, I was surprised to discover that this coconut flour smells so good. My dad was beside me when I opened it, and he wondered aloud if he can consume the flour on its own or add it on top of rice cakes hahaha. The smell was THAT appetizing. On another note, I promptly used the flour for dinner on the same day. I prepared chicken, sweet potato and celery croquettes with the frozen leftover mix I made a few days back. After cooking, I clearly tasted the difference from making fried, breaded food with commercial flour verses coconut flour. Both would have the same binding effect with the ingredients, but coconut flour enhanced the main dish by having a hint of coconut toasted smell (something that is seemingly comforting for us Asians), plus a very slight taste of sweetness that complimented the chicken. I cannot wait to try this with baked goodies, too!
