I appreciate that it comes with a wooden spoon, and the packaging looks good, but maybe it would help if the wooden stopper had a rubber part, because the oil in mine had leaked when it arrived. It was wrapped tightly, but some of the oil spread to the other products I bought. It was fine, and the rest of what I bought were in good condition, but were quite slippery. ;) Then I mixed the product thoroughly, since the actual sugar scrub part had separated from the oil part, which was really not a problem for me.
I did my usual body wash routine (sans the loofah) prior to using this scrub the first time I tried this, and felt that it was a little too abrasive.. I honestly find the sugar crystals very coarse. So, I pressed the product onto my skin very lightly instead, which worked better. I noticed, though, that the oil was quite thick and clung to my skin so much that I had to rinse twice after scrubbing--first with my usual body wash, and second with a bar of soap--just to get the oiliness off. My skin felt more moisturized after, though, which was great, because I sincerely wanted to love this scrub.
During the first three weeks, I used this twice weekly (mostly at night, because of the extended shower time required), but I've gone back to the scrub I've been accustomed to using (A Bonne Spa Milk Salt) lately since I feel like using this scrub takes too much time and effort. :( It is definitely moisturizing, and will probably work great for people with dry skin, but since I have a different skin type, I might not need to go too extra for hydration. I hope this works well for others, though. :)
Salt scrubbing has been part of my skin care regimen during my teens from rock salt to minuscule milk salt to organic salt. So far the difference from all of these is the feeling when you scrub, the bigger the salt the bigger the friction and irritation and the lesser the salt the more relaxing it is. I definitely don't recommend the use of rock salt but I'm torn by half with this organic salt to the one that is available in the stores like the Bonne. I've been using this for 2 months now and already consumed 2 packs of this and I didn't see much difference with the Bonne Spa Milk Salt which has more grams and lesser price. If this is on sale then I will certainly buy again.5 months ago
Bonus: they help with breakouts, too!
Same benefits, half the price.
