Nice to pick up, even if just for the color Speechless!
I've always been interested in this local brand as a lipstick junkie. I've always wanted to try them, and I just chanced upon them at Retail Lab in Vertis North. For such a small price tag I just jumped on the opportunity--and I don't regret it! On packaging, first off, it seems like a very standard bullet, with a pretty design on it, and I appreciate that you can see into the product inside. I don't know if it's just the one I have, but there's a jangling inside the component when you twist the actual product up; other than that, it does actually feel pretty sturdy, and I like that the bullet clicks when you twist it down completely. The actual product itself is pretty nice! Creamy as touted, and matte enough, I suppose. It isn't transfer-proof, which is fine, and it actually does last well, apart from if you eat food, of course. It stays a bit tacky, which might be a strong con for some, though it's pretty comfortable. It smells of a softly sweet "makeup" smell, which doesn't linger long anyway. My beef with it is that it looks a little cakey on--you could resolve this with a little blotting with tissue, which I realize I have not really done ever except for this lipstick! What I do really stan is the color--I got Speechless initially thinking it was just a standard warm nude, but I guess swatching with the store lights didn't do it justice. I was surprised when I put it on, as the hue is actually much more interesting. I would say it's a burnt, muted coral with orange, red, pink, and brown tones all in one. I've honestly never seen anything like it locally, aside from maybe Gigil from the Colourette liquid mattes. It might not look exactly the same on different skin tones, and with different lighting, but for sure it would flatter many, and could be used for a lot of different occasions. I'm definitely giving the other colors a try. If your curiosity's piqued, I'd say definitely pick Speechless up!
