ColourPop's Hello Kitty collection brought us a lot of bold and bright colors. In fact, I was drawn to these colors more than the neutral ones. And that's saying a lot because I prefer neutral colors since I can wear them every day. My favorites are Lock Diary, Ribbon, Surprise, Milk Bottle and the one I'll be reviewing now, Let's Play.
Let's Play is a beautiful cool toned ruby red lipstick with glitters, pink and red I think. I initially thought that this is the lippie stix version of Surprise because they are both red and both have a metallic finish. But I was so wrong. Let's Play is cooler and lighter than Surprise. It's a very fun color, exuding playfulness and innocence. The shimmer adds more to its playful effect. I think it's a color that perfectly captures the charm of every one's favorite kitty cat.
The finish is new to me. It's a satin luxe according to the label. This is the only satin luxe lippie I have encountered since I started using ColourPop last year. And it does feel like a satin lipstick so I was prepared to have it transferring like crazy. But it didn't. It clung to my lips like there's no tomorrow. It transferred only a little and only the glittery spot on your cup is the tell tale sign. Even with food and drink it did not wear off as easily as the other satin lipsticks.
The product is very pigmented. I tried applying just a small amount because I don't want it to be too bold. But I still ended up with that beautiful coverage you see on the photo, all from one swipe. I already mentioned that this is one of my favorites from the Hello Kitty collection. I never thought I'd be liking it as much as I did. It's really a pity that this has been discontinued.
Bonus: they help with breakouts, too!
