It’s everything they say it is and then some. This cult wonder is more than just an amazing lip balm. Containing a trade secret blend of essential oils, this minty multi-purpose emollient is also perfect for travel as an eye make-up remover, cuticle softener, sunburn easer, dry skin healer, and frizz fighter. Want to achieve that pouty look? Use Rosebud Salve alone or over your favorite lipstick to moisturize and get that dewy sheen. Use it on cheek bones, collar bones, shoulders, or any other body part that you want to highlight. When used as a base for powered eye shadow, it helps your make-up stay put all day. It can even tame unruly brow lines – or for the treatment of diaper rash! It feels great, smells great, and works great: a vintage favorite we absolutely can’t live without.
Here are other ways to use this phenomenal salve you might not have thought of:
Outline lips with lip liner of your choice about ¼ inches from the outside of your lips toward the center. Then use a lip brush to blend the salve to achieve a “pouty look”.
Use Rosebud Salve alone or over your favorite hue of lipstick to moisturize and give a “dewy effect”.
Apply Rosebud Salve to eyebrows to tame an unruly brow line while also giving sheen.
Rosebud Salve is great on fly-away or frizzy hair. Dab a small amount on the palms of your hands and apply sparingly to tresses.
Use Rosebud Salve as a subtle accent to cheek bones, collar bones, shoulders, or any other body part that you want to moisturize or enhance.
Apply Rosebud Salve lightly to the skin above the eye as a base for powered eye shadow, and then add the desired colors you wish to dazzle your eyes with. The rich emollient properties of the Salve will help to hold that look all day.
Rosebud Salve is perfect for travel as an eye make-up remover, cuticle softener, sunburn easer, dry skin healer, and frizz fighter.
Use Rosebud Salve around the eyes and on the throat for severely parched, dry, or wrinkled skin.
Before there were “multipurpose” creams and whatnot, there was the one and only Smith’s Rosebud Salve. The original multitasker, this world-famous salve is still a cult favorite among Hollywood stars, make-up artists, and practically anyone who’s ever tried it. It was invented in 1892 by Dr. Smith upon the request of friends and customers that he prepare for them a family salve that could be used for various skin irritations. A century later, it’s still a phenomenal hit, and for good reason too: what other salve can claim to be a deliciously hydrating lip balm, frizz fighter, soothe chapped and dry skin, blemishes, diaper rash, and even detergent burns?
My favorite thing on earth. First, I think the packaging is cute. This balm is very effective in soothing dry lips after long hours of wearing super matte liquid lipsticks. I just finished my first can and I hope you will restock this soon because this product is so amazing!!!over 1 year ago
When I first got this my initial thoughts revolved around how lovely the packaging is. I mean it felt like I just asked a balm from an Apothecary from the nth century. It really screamed vintage. As for the product itself, it really was effective in soothing my perpetually chapped lips. It would last about 4 hours before I have to re-apply which I really don't mind since I love the minty feel upon application. All in all, though this is a bit pricey compared to other lip balms out there, you definitely get your money's worth. And if you're worried about how small the tin can is, then don't because this will last you forever.almost 2 years ago
I just finish my pot of this Smith's Minted Rose Rosebud Salve and I must say that I quite enjoy using this lip balm all over my lips. I love how this salve really nourishes my lips, making them extremely soft and chapped free. The packaging can be a little hard to open sometimes though.over 2 years ago
I received 8 tin cans of this stuff and it is amazing! instead of the usual rose scent, this has more depth into it because of the menthol effect which helped me alot with my chapped lips. This is sort of slightly bigger than the original one, or maybe they're just the same and their packaging just differs. Only problem with this is the packaging itself. Unlike the original one, this particular lip balm always gives me a hard time to open it up. I don't know what's with it since they have the same packaging as the original but the other one is easier to open. But aside from that the overall performance of this lip balm is commendable so I'm still using it.over 2 years ago
I love the Rosebud Salve and also mint scents / flavors but for some reason I prefer the original salve than this minted version. It is still moisturizing for the lips I assure you and still effective as a multipurpose balm for several uses. I use it to soothe irritated skin, relax my tired muscles, to tame brows, and a whole lot others!over 2 years ago
LOVELY product that keeps my lips ultra hydrated! It's worth the buy, I promise!over 2 years ago
