While apple cider vinegar has a ton of skin and body benefits, coconut vinegar can outdo it in many ways. Here’s why: coconut trees are typically grown in extremely nutrient-rich (often volcanic) soil. And because of that, fermented coconut is packed with everything: amino acids, vitamins B and C, fiber, and naturally occurring FOS (a prebiotic for digestive health). You know, the good stuff.


These days, coconut “cider” vinegar is known as the healthiest vinegar to use for cooking, salad dressings, and everything else that calls for a condiment. Right alongside it is its fraternal twin: coconut “sap” vinegar.

While cider vinegar is made from coconut water, this second type of vinegar is made with the sap of mature coconut blossoms. These are nutritionally rich in vitamins, minerals, amino acids, probiotics, and good-for-you enzymes. And because it’s made from blossoms, coconut sap vinegar smells and tastes slightly sweeter than cider.

Suffice it to say, both types of coconut vinegar are useful and exceptionally healthy. That’s why I like to use them both, whether I’m in the kitchen or in the bathroom!


I use coconut vinegar every morning as a health and weight control supplement. Just add ½ tablespoon of coconut vinegar to a 32-ounce jug of purified water. Stir this together and drink it every morning on an empty stomach. You will find that aside from alkalizing and rejuvenating your body, this concoction has appetite-suppressing effects.

Of course, you can also use coconut vinegar for its amazing culinary qualities. Simply replace regular vinegar with your favorite coconut sap or cider vinegar! Use a 1:1 ratio to make salad dressings, sauces, dips, and the like.


As a beauty product, both coconut sap vinegar and coconut cider vinegar make for enzymatically active, alcohol-free, and non-toxic skin toners. These will help prevent acne formation, as well as suppress the signs of premature skin-aging.

HOW TO USE IT: Soak a cotton round in the vinegar of your choice. Use the cotton round to wipe off excess oil and traces of dirt and makeup after washing your face. Do this in the morning and evening. After toning your face with the vinegar, follow this with the rest of your natural skin care products.

All things considered, coconut vinegar is definitely a must-have for anyone who loves fully organic, no-nonsense natural products. Not only is it amazing for your external beauty, it does wonders for your internal well-being, too!
