Raise your hand if you’re getting through quarantine with a copious amount of snacks. Same. And while that particular survival tactic has served us well (oh, the comfort of carbs), it’s also made our WFH boxers a biiit tighter.
When it comes to weight management, we only believe in two things: healthy eating, and happy girls. When you look good, you feel amazing, and that happens at every size, shape, and scale reading. The number on the scale…is just a number on the scale. What matters is how well you treat your body, both inside and out, and how that TLC shows in your level of confidence.
Now, if your goal is to eat better to feel better, we can definitely help. Read on for our recos on staples and supplements that keep you in tiptop shape. Less bloat, #moreblessings.
Roasted, sweet, savory, or raw, almonds are the perfect snack. Because they’re packed with protein and fiber, they curb hunger while keeping you happy. They also have a fat-burning ability, lowering “bad” LDL cholesterol and maintaining “good” HDL cholesterol. We’re nuts about them.

ACV is famous for its detox power, and behind that is acetic acid. This acid has been shown to lower blood sugar levels, increase metabolism, and control appetite. It can also reduce fat buildup in your body, particularly around the belly area. Mix ACV with water and honey to make it more palatable, or just take it in supplement form.

This humble grass is an antioxidant powerhouse. And because of its ability to flush out toxins, it can also boost your metabolism and reduce water retention. On top of all that, it leaves you satiated. Blend it into your favorite smoothie to bring down bloat and keep your cravings in check.

Very low in calories but considerably high in fiber, beets are yummy veggies that help in appetite control. They keep you full for quite a while, and best of all, are versatile. Beet salad, beet soup, beet burgers—the list goes on. The easiest way to get your beets in? Juice.

It’s a low-carb, gluten-free option for wheat flour, but most importantly, coconut flour contains MCTs. MCTs (or medium-chain triglycerides) are fats that are quickly broken down and used for energy, rather than stored in the body. This provides a great fuel source and helps you lose calories and burn fat at a faster rate. So the next time you’re baking cookies, swap your regular flour for coco.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: chia seeds are the tiny superheroes of the food world. We’ll let you read this for their long list of benefits—but in terms of weight loss, they make every mouthful count. Put them in your water, sprinkle them over salad, or have a chia pudding for dessert. Whatever the recipe, it’ll make you very, very full. A brilliant hack to get snacking off the brain.

Just like chia seeds, it promotes fullness and fires up your metabolism—but what is fenugreek? It’s an herb (or spice, depending on who you ask) that contains iron, magnesium, vitamin B6, protein, and of course, fiber. Known as methi in Hindi, fenugreek is ground into a powder and mixed with warm water to produce a natural fat burning drink.

Green coffee might sound like coffee, but it tastes more like green tea. Made from unroasted green coffee beans, this extract reduces the absorption of carbohydrates. That, in turn, reduces weight gain. The cherry on top: green coffee helps you stay alert, minus the jitters you get from regular coffee.

Rich in protein and flavor, peanut butter is one of those magical things that taste great and happen to be good for you. Like most of the stuff on this list, it fills up your belly without the carbo load. Just be sure to choose a PB that’s low in sugar—or completely free of it.

Been working out while working from home? You’ll know how helpful protein can be. Getting enough protein increases your energy, so your body can sustain a high level of activity. If you’ve been a couch potato this whole time, well, that’s fine, too. Just replace your candy bars with nutrient-dense protein bars.

One of the easiest swaps you can make to manage your weight is quinoa and white rice. Quinoa has twice the protein content and far less calories—and to be honest, it tastes super similar. We suggest cooking your quinoa in chicken or vegetable broth for extra umami.

First things, first: it’s pronounced “roy-bows.” Rooibos has a light nutty taste, a natural sweetness, and a total of zero calories. It’s the only source of aspalathin, an antioxidant linked to weight loss, and can also increase leptin, a hormone that regulates food intake. And that’s the tea.
