When temps are at an all-time high, this not only poses a threat to our makeup but also to the skin beneath it. Sure, our faces oil up under heat, and this definitely messes up our FOTDs—but don’t forget the dulling, aging effect of prolonged UV exposure. You can run, you can hide, but you can’t escape the sun. So what if we told you there was something that could illuminate your bare skin and supercharge your makeup in one fell swoop? That’s what Banila Co.’s White Wedding Dream Cream claims to do, at least. And before you dismiss it as hype, consider this: it is currently the buzziest whitening makeup product in South Korea, having sold a tremendous 30,000 units in its first three weeks of launch. Whew.
Named for the radiant glow that brides strive for on their wedding days, this “dream cream” is laced with Vitamin C and niacinamide to correct the effects of sun exposure. Think: freckles, discoloration, and wrinkles! Its brilliance comes from micro-light reflectors that are undetectable in the pot but make a huge difference on the skin (see pics below). In fact, we highly recommend you use the cream as a makeup base for an instant strobing effect. It’s certainly lightweight enough for everyday use.

But enough chitchat—time for the photos! To prove the power of the White Wedding Dream Cream and see how it would fare on Filipina skin, we asked the girls at the BeautyMNL office to be our test subjects for the day. Here’s what happened.

“I was surprised at the instant effect this cream had. Even without any makeup on, my skin looked luminous. I don’t usually wear much product, but now I am eyeing a pot for myself.”

“I liked that It highlighted the high-points of my face, and made my skin look clearer overall. Plus, it wasn’t sticky and smelled good. I would definitely use this again!”

“I was afraid that this moisturizer would feel heavy on my skin, but it melted right in. The difference was obvious, and I immediately noticed that I had a glow about me. Plus, it is full of ingredients that won’t irritate my skin. I’m considering using it again.”

Seeing the immediate effects of the cream on the girls made me want to conduct a little experiment of my own. How would my makeup look with and without it? See the difference? My makeup without the cream looked flatter and duller in comparison to my makeup with the cream. It was almost like I’d highlighted my forehead, cheeks, and chin to make myself look glowy! And even without makeup altogether, the effect was similar—the micro-light reflectors gave me that nice, strobed look, so I looked dewier and more awake, in a way? I’d call that a win-win situation.
