When Tiffany Young of K-pop supergroup Girls’ Generation (SNSD) dropped “Teach You” last September, it proved to be her fiercest solo single yet. The song exists in the aftermath of a bad breakup, Young singing of burning an ex who burned her first to teach him a lesson. Who hasn’t heard this story before?
The music video showcases different makeup looks that range from bold red lips to soft, fluttery lashes, all of which create a stunning mood board of Valentine’s Day looks we’d love to cop. We took our favorite from the bunch (rose gold eyes!) and built a full face of makeup around it that says, “Hi, ex-man of my dreams, it’s me: the perfect girl you never deserved.” You know—just in case you ever have to be in the same room as a past flame again!
…or, okay, if you have generally good relationships with your exes, then wear this any time you need an easy confidence boost. It’s lovely, flatters your features, and proves that everyone deserves roses. Peep the tutorial below!
HOW TO GET A TIFFANY YOUNG-INSPIRED ROSE GOLD MAKEOVER
STEP 1: GLOWY BASE
Once you’ve prepped and primed your skin, it’s time to get your base glowing. To achieve that skin-like finish, use a lightweight foundation or BB cream that sets semi-matte or dewy. If you need extra coverage, simply layer on a few swipes of concealer over your problem areas.
STEP 2: FLUSHED CHEEKS
To push the lit-from-within look further, give yourself a healthy, “natural” flush. For this, we suggest reaching for a cream or liquid cheek tint that melts into your skin, in a hue that complements your skin tone. In general, light roses and soft berry colors tend to work for most people, and will pair well with your eye makeup.

STEP 3: ROSE GOLD EYES
EYESHADOW: Start by applying a neutral matte base to even out any discoloration. Follow it up with a layer of baby pink all over your lid that’s ideally the same shade as your blush. With a light, fluffy brush, sweep a layer of shimmery rose shadow on top. For added definition, blend a matte brick red shadow into your crease and extend. Finish it all off with a dusting of a champagne gold shadow on the center of your lid. Don’t forget your inner corners!
LINER & MASCARA: With an angled brush, pick up a dark brown shade from your palette and use it to subtly line your eyes. Complete the look by curling your lashes and applying a light layer of mascara.

STEP 4: STAINED, GLOSSY LIPS
Keep your lips simple with a juicy pink tint topped with a pout-plumping gloss. The subtle shine will tie everything together beautifully!
