Since liquid lipstick turned into a runaway hit, just about every beauty brand has come out with their own version. From global phenom Kylie Cosmetics to the PH’s very own Pink Sugar, the beauty world can’t get enough!
Real talk: despite their popularity, liquid lipsticks aren’t the easiest to use. Beginners will find them more challenging than the classic bullet—not because they’re that complicated, but because they’re designed for precision application. Allow us to share our best practices when it comes to wielding these magic wands, below.
STEP 1: Apply just enough lip balm to moisturize your lips. Blot.
STEP 2: Use the doe foot applicator to outline your lips with liquid lipstick. This will create the perfect “border” for you to fill in.
STEP 3: Once you’ve traced your lips, use a fresh coat of liquid lipstick to shade them in. If one coat isn’t enough, add another layer. Just don’t wait too long between applications so your color doesn’t patch up.
STEP 4: Super O.C.? Use a lip brush to apply concealer around the edges of your lips to refine the outline. It’s the perfect finishing touch.
Seems like a lot of work for a little lip color, right? But if you can eat, drink, and make merry without as much as a touch-up, we think it’s well worth the effort!
