I’m back for another first impressions video! Today we’re trying out bubble masks for the face and the body by a Taiwanese brand called SHILLS. I’ve always been fascinated by skincare products that are out of the ordinary, and Shills’ bubble masks definitely make the cut. Let’s test them!
PRODUCT #1: SHILLS Acnes No More Bubble Mask, on sale at P699
This product is ideal for pimple-prone skin. It’s a foaming cleanser designed for the treatment of acne, rough patches, and oily skin. Here’s what you need to know:
- It only takes 1 to 3 minutes to use
- It has cleansing, whitening, and anti-acne benefits
It has a bubbly consistency
APPLICATION: The bottle of this product looks like that of a hair mousse. You’re supposed to shake it well before dispensing the product. Once you press the top, out comes a foamy, mousse-like substance! I applied an ample amount all over my face, focusing closely on my problem areas.
THE VERDICT: The mousse was really thick and applying it on the face was very fun for me! After I achieved an even layer, I started massaging my face as per the instructions.
In about 1 to 2 minutes, I started feeling and seeing the formation of gray particles. This indicates that gentle exfoliation is happening on your skin.
The bubble mask sucks out the dirt from your pores, so the appearance of that gross, gray stuff is actually a good thing. Afterwards, I rinsed my face with warm water and was left with really soft, clean-looking skin.
PRODUCT #2: SHILLS Bubble Body Scrub, on sale at P799
Apparently, if there’s a bubble mask for the face, there’s one for the body, too! SHILLS’ Bubble Body Scrub is designed for areas of the body that tend to get darker in pigmentation and thus need more attention. You’re supposed to use it on your elbows, knees, heels, and armpits. Here’s what you need to know:
- Again, it only takes 1 to 3 minutes to use
- It’s a cleansing, peeling, and brightening product
- It works exactly like the facial bubble mask except it’s formulated more potently for the body
APPLICATION: I shook the bottle, dispensed the bubbly foam, and applied a think layer to each of my elbows.
VERDICT: After about a minute, the same gray particles appeared to signal the exfoliating action. I did not experience any bad reaction on my skin, and I loved the super-clean after-feel. My tip is to always use warm water to rinse, as some of the gray particles tend to cling to body hair. But all in all, great experience!
I guess the answer is YES, bubble masks are worth the hype—or at the very least, a try.
