Listen, there are multi-taskers and then there is Dr. Bronner’s Pure-Castile Liquid Soap, the ultimate overachiever. This organic formula is pretty much the MacGyver of beauty products. Not only can it be used to wash your skin, but it can also cleanse everything from your teeth to your tabletops—even keeping pests away from plants!
In the video above, we tried 14 out of 18 ways to use this fabulous fluid. We would list the rest, but trust us, it works best for these 14. Case in point: we don’t think anyone’s giving up deo any time soon in favor of this, despite how awesome it is. But we digress!
1. AS A BODY WASH
Apply a small amount on a sponge, washcloth, or directly onto the skin for the best lather ever.
2. AS A FACE WASH
Put 2 to 3 drops in your palms, warm them up, then apply to face as usual.
3. AS A FOOT SOAK
Add a tablespoon to a basin of warm water. Submerge your feet and relax.
4. AS A SHAMPOO
Work a pea-sized amount into wet hair and scalp. Don’t forget to use conditioner after.
5. AS A SHAVING AGENT
Rub a few drops into your skin. Shave as usual.
6. AS A TOOTHPASTE
Add 1 drop to your toothpaste or directly onto your toothbrush for squeaky-clean teeth.
7. AS A MOUTHWASH
Add 1 drop to a cup of water. Swish and rinse.
8. AS A CONGESTIVE REMEDY
Add a tablespoon to a bowl of steaming hot water. Drape a dry towel over your head to trap in the essences. Then, breathe in the aroma. NOTE: The Peppermint Liquid Soap works especially well.
9. AS A MAKEUP BRUSH CLEANER
Pour a small amount of soap in your hand. Rub your brush into the soap and create a lather. Rinse.
10. AS A PEST SPRAY
Mix a tablespoon of the soap with a quart of water in a spray bottle. Spritz it on exposed areas.
11. AS A DISH SOAP
To hand wash plates, glasses, and utensils, mix a 1:1 ratio of soap and water.
12. AS A HOUSEHOLD CLEANER
Pour 1/4 cup of soap into a quart of water in a spray bottle. Use to wipe windows and dirty surfaces.
13. AS A FRUIT & VEGGIE RINSE
Add 1 tablespoon to 2 cups of water. Keep the mixture in the spray bottle and spritz your produce as necessary.
14. AS A PET WASH
Wet your pet’s coat thoroughly. Lather a small amount of soap in your hands, then massage it into the fur. Rinse.
It isn’t Dr. Bronner’s “All-One!” Liquid Soap for nothing!
