We’re a month deep into 2016, but last year’s sins are still trailing us like a shadow. More like a shape, actually—the shape of the spare tire around our midsections, the flab dimpling our thighs, and the soft droop underneath our arms. Mind you, there’s nothing wrong with having more to love! But if, like us, you’ve resolved to look leaner, eat healthier, and be more forward-thinking in the New Year, this might pose a problem.

To ease you into that best version of yourself—the one who cares about fitness and skincare and aging impeccably well—here are five easy habits to adopt right now! And by easy, we do mean easy.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Aniston guzzle this stuff for good reason. Regular consumption of lemon-infused water has been proven to speed up weight loss! The pectin fiber in lemons effectively curbs cravings, which is why health buffs drink their fill of it all throughout the day. Meanwhile, the citric acid flushes out toxins—and when this waste is removed from your body, you will shed the pounds. Lemons are also packed with Vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant that prevents wrinkles, fades scarring, and zaps acne-causing bacteria. Now that’s a miracle potion—and so easy to make, too.

Remember this word: cholecystokinin. It’s a tongue twister, but its bloat-fighting benefits are worth the mouthful. Cholecystokinin is found in red kidney beans, white beans, soya beans—all kinds of beans!—and what it does is suppress your appetite. Try swapping out rice for a serving of beans once a day, preferably at lunch. By dinnertime, you’ll be able to have just a salad without feeling deprived in the least. Repeat this daily, and your bod will be slimmer by month’s end.

So you forgot to squeeze your lemons and pack your bag of beans? Fashion to the rescue! Outfits that are monochromatic—meaning, one color from top to toe—are a quick slimming solution. A one-tone look creates an uninterrupted, vertical silhouette for your line of vision to follow, and that tricks the eye into seeing a longer, leaner figure. Simply choose pieces that flatter your body type, like the beautiful Bianca King above. And don’t be restricted by forever-slimming black, because this trick works for the entire spectrum. (Have we mentioned how classy it looks?)

In the same way our metabolism loses momentum as we age, our skin also loses elasticity. In other words, tightness. And while overeating and under-exercising are the main culprits behind flab, having sagging skin really doesn’t help the overall look. Nope.
To tone up, you’ll need a lotion that stimulates the production of collagen. When that happens, our skin no longer looks droopy, wrinkled, or sallow. Our top-of-mind reco: the new-and-improved NIVEA Instant White Firming Body Lotion SPF15. This stuff is infused with CoEnzyme Q10, which helps boost the natural levels of collagen in the skin and stimulates cell renewal for a tighter surface. In addition, the lotion contains generous amounts of Vitamin C, so it helps brighten and even out your skin while firming it.
We’d also suggest NIVEA Extra White Firming Body Serum SPF33—an ultra-lightweight, slightly runnier version of the lotion. This Q10-laced serum penetrates deep into the skin to battle sagging and wrinkling and bring forth a more radiant skin tone. Use it on the darkened creases of your elbows and knees to really see the effects.

Some girls take longer to do their brows, and that’s just one part of the face! Surely you can spend ten minutes on a full-body exercise routine. Right? Right. Here’s one of our favorites, in GIF format. Enjoy!

Within 14 days of regular use, NIVEA Extra White Firming Body Serum SPF33 brings you radiantly fairer, firmer skin that is protected against re-darkening, while NIVEA Instant White Firming Body Lotion SPF15 delivers instantly whiter, smoother and more radiant skin that is supple to the touch.
