Every day, we get questions from our customers about all things beauty. It can be about anything, from which products we personally swear by to exactly how to use them for best results. So this week, the BeautyMNL Editors are answering a few inquiries that came in through the mail. By that, of course, we mean our email: sos@beautymnl.com. There’s no Q too big or too small, too strange or too simplistic, so keep ‘em coming, beautiful!

WHAT’S A QUICK WAY TO LOOK FRESH-FACED AFTER THE GYM?

Elena: “I’m a frequent gym-goer, and due to my busy working schedule, I often have somewhere important to be right after working out. Unfortunately, that means I look super haggard since I have no time to do my usual prettifying routine. What’s the fastest way I can freshen up and not look like I just went to the gym?”

ANSWER: Getting fresh-faced after a gym sesh can be tricky. You’re sweaty, tired, and probably don’t have all your beauty staples on hand. But if there’s a will, there’s a way! And with all the multi-purpose products available nowadays, taking the shortcut is easy-peasy.

So here’s our version of super-quick, post-gym glam! With this six-step regimen (yes, six, but we swear they’ll fly by), you can go straight from the locker room to the boardroom. Or, you know, the bar.

STEP 1: REFRESH YOUR HAIR WITH LOOSE POWDER

WHAT WE USED: Innisfree’s No Sebum Mineral Powder, now on sale at P260 (limited time only). Shop it here.
One telltale sign of post-workout haggardness is matted, sweaty hair. Naturally, the quick fix is dry shampoo. But if you don’t have any on-hand, a loose translucent powder will work, too.

Simply shake the powder into your hand and apply it to your roots. Gently massage it into your scalp with your fingers. Not only will the powder absorb excess moisture, it’ll also help fight odor and add volume. Nifty, no?

STEP 2: USE A NO-RINSE CLEANSER

WHAT WE USED: L’Oréal’s Micellar Water Refreshing 3-in-1, P225. Shop it here.

Normally, a quick shower is a must after a hard workout. But if you’re really pressed for time, you can cheat your way to cleaner skin with a micellar water. You don’t even have to rinse!
Start by soaking a cotton ball or pad in the micellar water. Then lightly sweep the cotton over your face. Since it’s designed for hassle-free cleansing, the micellar water will pick up all traces of sweat, oil, and dirt. With just a few sweeps, your skin will be grime-free and ready for makeup!

(Disclaimer: If you have time for a shower, take that shower. Just sayin’.)

STEP 3: APPLY A MULTI-PURPOSE CREAM

WHAT WE USED: Skin Genie’s Genie in A Bottle, P250. Shop it here.

Time to prep your base! A simple moisturizer can make all the difference, whether or not you’re planning to wear foundation. Anyhow, just because you’re in a hurry doesn’t mean you should skip your skincare!
Dispense a pea-sized amount of cream. Dot it all over your face and spread it using circular motions. Lightly pat your skin until the product has fully absorbed.

For this step, it’s best to use a multi-benefit formula. That’s why we picked a moisturizer that does way more than hydrate. It instantly brightens the skin, fights wrinkles, and even comes with SPF 25!

STEP 4: ADD A POP OF COLOR

WHAT WE USED: Banila Co.’s B. Cheek Water Gel, P595. Shop it here.

While some folks leave the gym with a natural flush, a lot of us just look pale or blood-drained. To combat this, add a pop of color with a lip and cheek stain.
Just dot the color over the tops of your cheeks and blend it out. Then, spread the same amount over your lips until the color looks even. If you want more intensity, layer up.

We swear by this step for eliminating dullness, since blush and lipstick make a world of a difference. Even the subtlest flush can enhance the complexion, making you look healthy and vibrant.

STEP 5: MATTIFY YOUR FACE

WHAT WE USED: Innisfree’s No Sebum Mineral Powder, now on sale at P260 (limited time only). Shop it here.

Even if you don’t apply any base makeup, setting your skin can make you look extra fresh. Simply sweep the powder over your skin using a face brush. Focus your application over the T-Zone and forehead, which are the shiniest regions of the face.
The powder will quickly banish shine and prevent excess sebum later on. With the right formula, you can even blur imperfections. No foundation, no problem!

STEP 6: GLOW UP WITH A MIST

WHAT WE USED: Human Nature’s 100% Natural Hydrating Face Mist, P250. Shop it here.

Last but not least, mist yourself! This simple step is often overlooked, but for us, it’s the quickest way to boost your glow without using highlighter.
Hold the spray bottle at half an arm’s-length away. Then, spray your face from all sides. Once that’s done, lightly fan your face (you know, that thing you do with your hands when it’s hot) until the product is more or less dry.

The light hydration from the mist will help soothe any irritation that may have occurred during your workout. And, with just a couple of spritzes, you get instantly dewy skin!
No sweat—just freshness!
