I am 100% sure that every one of you has a trip planned for the summer! I actually had my first 2016 business trip-slash-weekend away last month when I attended the AdSummit in sunny Subic. Today, I thought I would share with you my travel essentials—the stuff that I always, always bring along for the ride, whether I’m going to be gone overnight or much longer than that. Watch me unpack my bag in this video:
THE BREAKDOWN IN PHOTOS
Like my bag? It’s a weekender by David Jones called the Eden. I’ve been loving it since I got it last month because it is so spacious! Being a heavy packer, bag size is super important to me, which is why the Eden was the first choice for my trip. I toss my clothes in here, my planners, wallet, neck pillow, medicine, gadgets, toiletries, you name it! I also chose this particular bag because it’s extremely durable and has no flimsy straps whatsoever.
The first thing I pack is my CANON G7X, my trusty vlogging camera. It’s all part of the job! Then I fit in my laptop, all my chargers and powerbanks, and this brand-new, super-helpful discovery: the Momax U.Bull USB Charger. This bad boy allows you to charge up to four gadgets simultaneously, and it’s so cute, to boot! I find this perfect to use in hotel rooms to save time and battery power.
So, what’s in my bag besides technology? My makeup pouch, of course! This one is the Palma Travel Kit by Aranáz Tú, which is also very roomy. Space is important for a beauty blogger like me, because I need my travel kits to house all the different makeup and skincare products I carry from home.
INSIDE MY KIKAY KIT
- FACE POWDER. I bring Mizon’s Oh Shy Touch Like Moisture Layered Pact when I travel because it’s almost like a dual-purpose product. It’s a good powder to use for retouching my makeup, but it also adds a subtle dewy glow to the skin since it has tiny specks of shimmer in it.
- WATERPROOF MASCARA. A must for a lash-obsessed girl like me! One of my current favorites is L’Oréal’s False Lash Butterfly Wings. I swim with this mascara and it doesn’t melt away!! I highly recommend this for summer makeup.
- A GOOD PRIMER.
Hot weather calls for primer more than any other time of year!.How else are you going to keep your makeup from melting off? I’ve been using the Fill It Up Primer by Y.E.T. since last year when I first discovered it on BeautyMNL (love the packaging!). On top of making my makeup last longer, this primer makes my face extremely soft and smooth, and most importantly, it reduces the appearance of my pores! I could wear this alone on a good skin day.
- A HARD-WORKING CONCEALER.
By hard-working, I mean that this concealer can sometimes even double as a light foundation for me! I’ve been experimenting with Aritaum’s Full Cover Concealer Stick since February, and I’ve found that a little goes a long way. This is so convenient to bring during trips because it negates the need to lug around heavy foundation bottles. It’s got a concealer cream on one end (I use 02 Natural Beige) and brush on the opposite end that makes it easy to blend. And let me tell you, the coverage is to die for!
- MY LIPSTICK DU JOUR.
I am having a huge MLBB lipstick celebration at the moment. My top choice for summer is the NYX Extra Creamy Round Lipstick in Tea Rose. It’s a really nice, healthy, rosey-pink color with a satin finish. This has been one of my long, long, long-time favorites and I still break it out for vacations to this day.
- MAKEUP REMOVER. For removing makeup, I bring Banila Co. Clean It Zero. I totally get the hype about this, people! It’s such an easy product to use for makeup removal. All you have to do is rub the balm all over your fully made-up face and watch the makeup magically melt away! Rinse it off with water after a couple of minutes and you’re as clean as can be.
BTW, in case you were wondering, the sunglasses I’m wearing in the video are by Luxe Studio. This pair is called the Carmi, a classic cat-eye style that I think everyone should try on a vacation. Enjoy yours!
