From Beyoncé and badgal RiRi to Liza Soberano and Song Hye Kyo, there’s one thing our faves have in common, and that’s a stunning glow. There’s just something about a woman who looks lit-from-within that makes you want exactly what she’s having. Lucky for you, there’s an easy way to get lit these days—and you can carry it around in your purse. We’re talking about illuminating primer!
A brilliant hybrid of base and highlight, these primers are infused with light-reflecting particles or finely-crushed pearl powder. They blur imperfections and hold your makeup in place just like any other primer, but also produce a lovely natural sheen. Worn alone or under makeup, they add life and brightness to the face without neglecting their skin-smoothening duties. Try one of the glow-boosting primers below, and you’ll see exactly what we mean!
SPLURGE: Benefit The Porefessional: Pearl Illuminating Face Primer, P1,900 The latest addition to the Porefessional Series, this primer combines the pore-eliminating power of the original with a pearly-pink tinge. Basically, the Pearl Illuminating Primer does exactly what it says: illuminates the skin for a fresh and healthy look. It’s lightweight, oil-free, and just as mattifying as its predecessor, so you won’t even feel like you have anything on. Worth the splurge, don’t you think?

This P550 option delivers a universally flattering radiance, thanks to the soft-focus pigments in its formula. A lightweight but hardworking primer, it also diminishes pores and fine lines while keeping the skin hydrated. If you like a really subtle highlight, you can dab a little extra over your cheekbones and brow bones, too. Some folks swear that this is a perfect dupe for MAC primers!
