It’s no secret that I love green coffee. In my previous story, I waxed poetic about its effects on weight loss and even shed a few inches because of it. So it’s only natural that I want to try every variety there is on the market—and try I did:
This week, I drank 3 different kinds of green coffee, from whole beans to instant mix packets and coffee tea. Scroll to find out how each one fared—and which one will be fueling my newfound obsession for the green bean.

Grown in the mountainous regions of Cordillera, The Green Tummy Green Coffee comes straight from the source itself. Each package contains whole, unroasted beans that are 100% organic, all-natural, and non-GMO.

Grind up 1 tbsp. of beans with a coffee grinder, a blender, or a food processor—whichever is available to you. Transfer the grounds into hot water, allowing it to sit for 10 minutes before straining it into a cup. Add honey or sugar to taste.
THE TASTE: This cuppa has a grassy aroma with a bitter taste. Since I prefer my coffee sweet, I added a small amount of honey to neutralize its strong flavor.
THE EFFECT: Suffice it to say, this coffee is as powerful as a kick to the face. A single cup left me with a surge of energy that powered me through an entire workday. So if you’re looking for something potent and straight-to-the-point, THIS IS IT! Just make sure to eat a full meal beforehand.

There is more to the Ultra Green Coffee than its name lets on. One sachet is jam-packed with 6 other super-greens too, namely: moringa, mangosteen, guyabano, bitter melon, bignay, and banaba.

It’s simple: pour 1 sachet into a mug of hot water, stir, and sip.
THE TASTE: Like most instant coffee, this mix errs on the sweeter side; no milk or sugar necessary! This is probably due to the infusion of stevia, a 100% natural, zero-calorie sweetener.
THE EFFECT: While I wouldn’t recommend it, I could probably replace my breakfast for this coffee alone. It kept me satiated for a few hours, until my stomach started calling out for lunch. And because a cup of the stuff is already super yummy, it curbed my appetite for anything else that was sweet. Win-win!

The Great Basket Green Coffee Tea is the happy medium between coffee and tea. It provides the feeling of focused wakefulness that is similar to caffeine but with more clarity and calm.

Place 1 teabag in a cup of piping-hot water. Let it steep for 3 minutes only.
THE TASTE: Like The Green Tummy’s Green Coffee, this has a similar taste profile: grassy and a little bitter. If this isn’t your cup of tea (pun intended), I recommend adding a teaspoon of honey to taste.
THE EFFECT: While this didn’t make me feel wide-awake, it helped relax my nerves and clear out my headspace. Aside from these, it also kept bloating at bay. I drank one cup after a heavy meal which prevented any discomfort I usually feel.

While I didn’t lose weight after one week, I did experience things that will help aid in weight loss in the long-run. All three green coffee variants suppressed my appetite and also boosted my metabolism. When it comes to taste and effect, however, it becomes a matter of personal preference.
Green Tummy’s Green Coffee is for coffee purists and those who want instant results. While the preparation process will take longer, the concentrated essence of green coffee can have more immediate weight loss effects.
If convenience and taste are top priority, Ultra Green Coffee is perfect for you. It’s quick to prepare and the taste is the closest to coffee (at least the instant kind) from the three.
If you prefer tea over coffee, choose Green Basket’s Green Coffee Tea. This is the perfect choice if you’re worried about any caffeine-inducing side effects.

Now, which one of these green coffee variants would you like to try?
