Looking for the crème de la crème from our assortment? Our customers have got you covered! For this year’s edition of Customers’ Picks, we’re going through the best-reviewed basics of 2019. From MLBB lipsticks to health-boosting supplements, these are the products that any beauty and wellness junkie would be lost without. For the sixteenth installment of this year’s Customers’ Picks series, we’re puckering up for lip products. 2019 continued to be the year of the MLBB, which Filipinas love in every form. It was also a year of texture: we went beyond plain mattes and started reaching for velvets, juicy gels, and even (surprise!) glosses. Multi-use tints and creams were also star players—gotta love how easy they make getting pretty on the go, right?

A good lippie remains as essential to the kikay girl as, well, breathing. That said, we can go on and on about our #1’s—and so can our customers. Below, you’ll find the 20 lip products that gave them the perfect pout in 2019!

Rom&nd Juicy Lip Tint, P680 Janikka, 22: “I’ve been looking for a lip tint that won’t settle into the dry patches of my lips and I finally found it! I really love how this tint gives me healthy-looking lips! For me, the only cons are that it’s sticky upon application and it’s not long-lasting. But I honestly don’t mind that because the stickiness lessens as the product dries on your lips and I can always re-apply. I still think this deserves 5 stars for its quality and color payoff, though. It’s a must-try!”

Careline Kiss Sticks, P175 Marah, 24: “I bought this in the shade Vacay since there were a lot of reviews that said it was perfect for everyday use. When I first tried this, the shade gave me a positive impression and reminded me of a pricier option. It’s worth the price. The one thing I don’t like about this is that my lips feel dry after application. But I think you can easily fix that with a balm!”

Colourette Velvetint, P349 Nikka, 23: “From all the lippies I’ve tried (and I swear, there’s quite a lot), this is the best one so far! I love the velvet finish. My lips look so soft and pillowy. It doesn’t crack or show the lines on my lips. It also feels lightweight. Super pigmented (but not transfer-proof, sadly). It’s not messy when it blurs out though. It just looks like a powdery tint, like when you blot out any lipstick with tissue. Basically, it looks like you did the blurring on purpose! It’s also easy to apply and allows you to outline your lips well. Your lips look plumper and thicker than usual. This is the only lipstick line that makes me want all the shades! I cannot praise this product enough.”

Happy Skin Kiss & Bloom Water Lip & Cheek Tint in Focus, P329 Aimee, 22: “I gave this a try and I swear this is the best lip tint for me! This is the first tint I’ve found that isn’t drying, doesn’t settle into my inner lips, is super hydrating, and smells so good. It also gives you a natural finish, like a ‘no-makeup makeup’ look. We might have different experiences with this product, but this lip tint is the BEST among the lip tints I’ve personally tried.”

Vice Cosmetics BT21 Phenomenal Velvet Single, P225 Jianna, 22: “I really like the formula of this liquid lippie. The color payoff is great, it’s so pigmented! The color is a bit light, but it didn’t emphasize the lines on my lips and it actually covered them really well. I was complimented for the first time when I wore this lippie, actually! The lady said that it was the shade she wanted for that Korean look and she even asked where I bought it.”

The Face Shop Water Fit Lip Tint (03 PICNIC RED), P295 Michelle, 23: “This is more of a water gel type, so it’s even better! It’s not drying, it doesn’t emphasize dry patches, it’s blendable, stays for a decent amount of time, and has a nice smell. Perfect for those who just want to look presentable and fresh on a daily basis.”

Maybelline Creamy Matte Brown Nude Lipstick, P199 (limited time only) Issa, 23: “I suddenly started to love nude lipstick because of this. I was never really a fan of them because of the way they emphasized the lines on my lips. But girl, this is totally smooth! There’s a reason that this product has 700+ five-star ratings on it. If you’re looking for a nude lipstick, whether or not you’re in a budget, THIS is definitely something to look into!”

L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Mattes, P250 (limited time only) Nikki, 27: “I’ve always been a L’Oreal girl. I’ve loved L’Oreal products ever since, especially their lippies! The color selection and the quality, they’re simply superb! This color riche matte line really matches my personality and my desired look both for everyday and for special events. I super love the matte finish because it gives me that elegant look every time! I got mine on sale, I would still continue to buy them even if they’re not, because I just love them so much!”

Diva White Lip & Cheek Tint, P80 > Jessa, 22: “I have several of this—5, I think—and I still repurchase and even give it to my friends so they can also experience this great product. The consistency of the product is so good! And it really lasts long. In my case, it lasts up to 12 hours. It’s a little too pigmented and you may have an issue with application, but practice helps. This is always a part of my daily routine. It’ll keep your face looking fresh!”

Peripera Peri’s Ink The Velvet, P430 Roane, 32: “I always see this whenever I browse the makeup and lipstick catalogue of online shops, but it’s my first time to buy it since this was the recommended brand and color (Sell Out Red) to achieve Man Wool’s (of [Korean drama] Hotel Del Luna) lipstick look. It was love at first pat on my lips! It is highly pigmented, soft, and airy. It doesn’t dry my lips out and it lasts long. Definitely will be trying out the other colors as well. Girls, this one is a must-have!”

Skinpotions Dream Cream, P174 (limited time only) Amish, 19: “What I love about this product is that it’s so blendable. You won’t have any problems using it on your lips, cheeks, and eyes, because it won’t tug on your skin when you blend it out. The more you blend it out, the more the color pops! I don’t mind it not being long-lasting, since the brand doesn’t claim that for this product. I don’t even mind reapplying, because I love the smell! The only downside is that it’s kinda drying if you don’t put a lip balm under. So, I suggest that you exfoliate first and apply lip balm, before you applying this dream cream.”

Colourette Coloursnaps, P249 Tata, 47: “Considering how affordable these are, how cute the packaging is, and how complementary the shades are on my skin tone… well, I just kept buying more. Don’t expect it to last all day, ‘cause it won’t. You’ll need to reapply every 3-4 hours, depending on the climate you’re in. But it gives you an adorable sheen and flush! I just can’t resist stocking up. I use this product on cheeks, lips, and eyes, and it really works every time. I have one in my kikay kit, in my travel bag, and about 3 at home!”

Sooper Beaute Lip & Cheek Rolly, P100 Tiffy, 25: “I got this while it was on sale, and now I’m planning to buy 2 more shades! So, to sum up my love for this tiny but mighty tint: 1) it’s very pigmented, 2) it comes in nice packaging, 3) the roller ball is not loose unlike other roller tints, 3) the scent is bubble-gum-y, but not overpowering, 4) the color payoff is the same as in the photo, 5) there are no additives that can darken your sensitive lips, 6) the formula is non-drying (doesn’t make my lips chapped!), 7) it’s easy to blend out on the cheeks, and; 8) it’s very affordable!”

Careline Matte Liquid Lipstick, P210 Sophia, 20: “This is a good purchase if you’re just starting out with trying matte liquid lipsticks. It’s surprising how much good quality products are being put out by local brands these days. ‘Gotta Go’ is a very good nude for fair to medium skin tones. There are also many deep shades that aren’t patchy at all and so good for many skin tones. Lasts all day on me, but when you eat oily food, it’s best to re-apply, especially on the inner part of your lips as that is where liquid lipsticks usually fade first. In my experience, this is very hard to remove with just tap water. I use micellar water to remove this using a cotton pad.”

Miju Glow Lip and Cheek Tint, P89 Kamy, 19: “I have finally found the lip tint for me, after numerous purchases from different brands. The formula is nice, it lasts a long time, and it smells great as well! It’s has a gel-like consistency, which I think makes it lasts longer on the lips. The shade I got is also very suitable for a morena like me. Can’t wait to finish my second tube so I can buy a new one!”

Vice Cosmetics Lip & Cheek Tint (3.5ml), P145 Alyssa, 23: “I have tried a lot of tints already since I’m a fan of the ‘no makeup’ makeup look, but this is by far the best one yet. I love its formula and pigment, plus it’s super easy to use. Very beginner-friendly and it’s also very convenient to carry anywhere, since it’s compact and lightweight. I will try more shades ‘cause this is definitely worth it!”

Benefit Benetint, P1,330 (limited time only) Jillian, 28: “This is probably my most expensive pikit-mata tint purchase at the mall, but it was all worth it! 3 months ko na siya ginagamit and super matipid siya. Just a little bit of product goes a long way—it’s very pigmented, blends well, and lasts throughout the day! I work 10 hours a day and from bahay hanggang uwian, kita pa rin ang ‘natural-looking’ blush ko. I can say na it’s worth every penny. Reward yourself once in a while, go and get one!”

3CE (3 Concept Eyes) Velvet Lip Tint, P950 Sulperia, 33: “This has been in my bucket list for some time and I finally got one a few days ago. Now I get why this brand is so hyped! I love, love, love this lip tint! It’s super lightweight, velvety, and it’s also easy to blend. The ‘Near and Dear’ shade is lighter on me since I have dark lips. It makes me look pale when applied fully on lips, but it’s actually great when used for the gradient look—mala-MLBB yung dating. The scent has a hint of vanilla, but it doesn’t bother me. It’s expensive but I think it’s worth it. It also leaves a tint on your lips after a few hours of use!”

Sunnies Face Fluffmatte In Baked, P345 Alma, 18: “First of all, I would like to say that this lipstick is so ganda! At first, I was hesitant to buy a lipstick, because I’ve always been lip tint girl. But Sunnies Face got my attention, especially since their shades suit morenas like me. Words aren’t enough to describe how much I love this shade! This is already my go-to lipstick. Whenever I feel ugly yet too lazy to put makeup on, i just wear this lipstick and I’m ready to go—looking so fabulous!”

Human Nature 100% Natural Tinted Lip Balm, P100 Jewel, 17: “Stays true to its description! There is really no need for a mirror to apply, because a single coat on the lower lip and a bit of puckering up will be sufficient to moisturize and add a hint of color to your lips. While the minty feeling is a deal breaker to some, I love how it makes my lips feel and also the smell that comes with it. As a morena with pale lips, this really suits me and looks natural. I even add this to my cheeks. I’ve tried other brands of lip balms to fix my chapped lips, but this is my new favorite! Super inexpensive and goes a long way.”
