Waking up to a brand-new day only to find a brand-new zit adorning your face is pretty disheartening. Scratch that—it sucks. But don’t think for one second that your struggle is a solo affair. So many of our customers have dealt with breakouts, their anti-acne product reviews could fill a book! We’ve spliced together 10 of their best recos, below. Now cheer up and clear up!

St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub, P205
Lani, 32, Oily Skin: “I am a loyal user of St. Ives since I was in college. After a decade I am still using this product even if it has transformed into several versions already. I have acne prone and oily skin so this blemish facial wash has been a staple in my bathroom since it keeps my skin smoother and blemish free. It contains 2% salicylic acid and [is] mild enough for everyday use. I use it every night. One tube lasts for a long time.”

COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patch, P170
Odette, 30, Combination Skin: “This product works wonders! I have an acne prone skin ever since I hit puberty, and it’s a pity I got to discover this product only now. The pimple patch is very effective when it comes to drying zits (no matter the size) overnight, so I highly recommend every girl to have a ready stock of this product on hand. Popping the zit first before putting on the patch is the surest way to eliminate it overnight, but I’ve tried putting it on small bumps of acne, the ones which are just starting to form, and I find the patch to be effective just the same even without zit popping.”

Skinlite Tea Tree Deep Cleansing Peel-Off Mask, P70
Jamie, 25, Oily Skin: “The Skin Lite Tea Tree Deep Cleansing Peel-Off Mask is such a great find because it is really deeply cleansing; my skin feels really fresh and clean after use. It also gets rid of my annoying oils and keeps it that way for a good while. My acne becomes less irritated and less bumpy. I also like that you can use it twice, even thrice sometimes because it works even with a thin layer.”

Céleteque DermoScience Acne Spot Corrector Gel, P169
Kenza, 20, Oily Skin: “Nothing but love for this product. It really dries out my pimples, and I’m surprised that it didn’t cause any rashes to my face like most products like this one usually do. Perfect for those who are chemical conscious and acne prone like me. Don’t worry, this product will do you wonders.”

Dearest Acne Soap, P450
Victoria, Sensitive Skin: “With all honesty, I can really say that this Dearest Gentle Acne Soap really works. I remember asking friends travelling to Thailand to hoard me these soaps for me and my brother. We both went through a horrifying acne stage and this soap really remedied that problem for both of us.”

Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Tea Tree Mask, on sale at P90
Ednalyn, 20, Oily Skin: “Innisfree is amazing! This is the first mask I’ve tried from them and so far I’m loving it! I used this when my skin broke out due to all the stress. It claims that it is perfect for oily skin prone to breakouts and it definitely did not lie. This is currently in my things to repurchase list.”

Aloe Derma Acne Removing Deep Cleanser, P450
Giselle, 27, Combination Skin: “I like that it’s a gel type so it’s very easy to apply and massage on the face, not drying at all and you won’t have the typical tight feeling you get from other face cleanser. I’m acne-prone so I’m loving aloe vera products lately as it helps calm down the redness and zits on my face. I think it cleanses well as I don’t get any remnants of my makeup when I tone. I’m on my second tube now and I already bought my third tube just for backup.”

COSRX Centella Blemish Cream, P900
Nica, 22, Combination Skin: “Despite this being a spot cream I use it all over my face because it claims to heal both acne and scars. I have been using this for a week now and it definitely heals acne between 1-3 days. By that I mean my pimples truly flatten. I have yet to see my acne scars go away but that may need more time or maybe Vitamin C. This is not a moisturizing cream so I suggest using a separate moisturizer/lotion/emulsion before applying this spot cream.”

VMV Hypoallergenics Id Monolaurin Gel, on sale at P747
Christine, 21, Oily Skin: “I’ve been using this religiously ever since I discovered it 4 years ago. I have oily, sensitive skin and this really helps keep my acne at bay. It doesn’t feel heavy and gets absorbed in the skin easily; a plus for oily-skin peeps like me. Although this can be a bit pricey especially for students, I still think it’s definitely worth your every peso. Kudos to the VMV Hypoallergenics team!”

Cleerface Herbal Pimple Cream, on sale at P319
Rica, 27, Normal Skin: “This works really well! Before I bought this, I was using a product from a really popular brand that’s supposed to be a “best seller”, and ended up with more acne—both red and cystic ones—than before. Then I decided to just buy this one to give it a try (since its price is like 1/5 of the other product I was using), and was satisfied with the results even from the first time I used it! It’s also not too strong so you won’t end up with acne scars as well.”
