One of the seismic beauty shifts we felt this year was the transition from flat-matte makeup to a fully-natural finish. The dewy, glowy, just-gymed look once associated solely with South Korea has finally made its way to the PH. And surprisingly, we don’t hate it—we just don’t want to look oily while attempting it! After all, there’s a fine line between moist, bouncy skin and a grease plate, and no girl wants to be the latter in this climate. To ace the dewy skin movement, we turned to our customers for their best finds. Here’s what they recommend.

April Skin Magic Snow Cushion, P1,499
Jane, 39, Normal: “I just love Korean skin and [Korean] beauty products. This cushion helped me achieved that dewy, flawless and healthier-looking skin that I was aiming for. It was not sticky on the face and sets perfectly with my loose powder. It also instantly made my face brighter. Plus it was so easy to use.”

Lioele Dollish Cera-V CC SPF 34 / PA++, P950
L, Oily Skin: “This is my first CC cream. Every time I wear this (without fail), people say I’m glowing or blooming! I’ve found one pump is enough for the entire face and neck. Like the other reviews say, it does appear white when you first smooth it onto your skin. But don’t freak out, as it’ll fade into your skin tone eventually.”

Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream, P1,600
Bea, Oily Skin: “Great for every day use! It has a natural finish to it, quite dewy (as most Korean cosmetics are) and light, natural coverage. It also surprisingly controls oil build-up on the face, which is absolutely amazing for a BB cream on my super oily face. There’s also a lot of product in it so it’ll (hopefully, considering that I use it every day) last a long while…Overall, a great BB cream, especially for oily skin!”

Banila Co. It Radiant CC Cream SPF 30 PA++, P1,195
Jessica, 24, Oily Skin: “I have tried a sample of this baby and I must say, I want to get a tube of this, stat! I have never experienced looking so glowy and alive with a base product, and just a tiny amount of this made my skin look radiant. It is an iridescent liquid that is probably used more as a primer than as a CC cream itself, since it does not really give much coverage. If the price isn’t so steep, I’ll hoard this in a heartbeat. I’ll save up for this one or treat myself to this on Christmas or my birthday.”

A’Pieu Airfit Cushion, P650
KR, Combination Skin: “This is what I really need. [One] time when I had so many pimples and it left so many marks on my face, I had big hopes for [a] cushion. From [A’Pieu’s] advertisement, you can really see the big change on the skin once this is applied. And as for me, it [made] a lot difference. Dark undereyes have lightened, marks are not visible, as if I have very smooth and dewy skin. This is like a damp version of foundation but more full coverage and easier application.”

Holika Holika Bouncing Petit BB Cream, P345
Tess, 32, Normal Skin: “This Bouncing Petit BB Cream variant by Holika Holika is my favorite among its BB cream variants because its finish is very satiny. It does not look too matte or too dewy, and it is just how I like it. The coverage is very buildable depending on the amount of product applied to the skin.”

DewyTree Skin Healthy Fit CC Cream, P1,099
Mayen, Normal Skin: “This cream glides effortlessly on my face with a beauty blender. Goes on sheer without any sticky feel and blends quite fast. A few drops [are] enough to give you fresh skin as if you had 8 hours of sleep. Stays on for about 6 hours and my skin still looks polished. I think I’ll [be sticking] to this CC cream even after trying also good brands. I’ll go for this because of the lightweight feel.”

Banila Co. White Wedding Dream Cream, P1,345
Winnie, 35, Combination Skin: “I don’t think I can ever go out without wearing this cream. It gives [an] unusual glow and replaced my snail cream routine. This cream can be a primer because it adds that highlighted effect on my high points after my usual BB cream and loose powder. No need to use highlighters. I also use this as a night cream because it made a miracle on my face. Before I always wake up with not less than 3 breakouts, but with this cream, I wake up with no breakouts at all during my period. I love how my skin feels when washing in the morning. I am definitely going to buy this again.”

Farmstay All-In-One Galactomyces CC Cream, P500
Bianca, 27, Sensitive Skin: “I love this product for three reasons! First, it is easy to use and blend! Also, you would not need a lot. So I guess my tube will last me quite some time! Second, it works as promised! Whenever I use this product, I find my skin having enough natural coverage with some glow! And finally, it does not irritate my skin at all, given that I have sensitive and acne-prone skin. This product is a must-try and must-have!”

Dear Klairs Illuminating Supple Blemish Cream, P1,250
Lexi, 23, Sensitive Skin: “Klairs BB cream is probably the only product I’ve ever come across that offers virtually no coverage, yet does the job of perfecting your skin. It applies a little emollient, which was an initial turn-off for my oily skin, but it settled into my face very well. It doesn’t oxidize, so it retains this yellow undertone that I always look for in any face product, and it only has a very slight scent to it, nothing overpowering or overbearing. Its strength lies in its perfecting properties. It doesn’t exactly last you all day, so you’re going to have to set this with powder after your routine, but when it makes [its] home on your skin, it really leaves it looking fresher and dewier than when you left it. It’s almost like magic.”
