Valentine’s is the time of the season when love runs high, especially for couples. While aphrodisiacs such as chocolates, wine, and oysters are always the classic options to help you and your partner get in the mood, there’s always room for adventure. And by that, we mean anything that can enhance the sex experience.

So in the spirit of love, we asked three women to try 3 sexual health enhancers—Moon Juice Sex Dust, Teaconcepts Sex Tea, and Puritan’s Pride Horny Goat Weed Maca (60 Capsules)—to see if it really did spice things up in the bedroom. Here’s what happened below!

1. Moon Juice Sex Dust, now on sale at P2,424 (limited time only)

This all-natural adaptogenic blend from Moon Juice is made with wildcrafted herbs and bioactive minerals to help increase sexual vigor. It also boasts health benefits beyond the bedroom, such as combatting stress and achieving hormonal balance.

This concoction includes Wildcrafted Shilajit (a traditional aphrodisiac and libido booster), Organic Schisandra (increases blood flow and energy), Organic Cacao (stimulates endorphin release), Organic Epimedium (Horny Goat Weed) (helps ignite desire and strengthen sensation), and Organic Maca (supports mood, energy, and healthy sexual function).

What was your expectation before trying this product?
S.M.: “I was honestly expecting a sudden increase in sexual appetite! I think this is also why I didn’t want to take it at work.”

How did you take it?
S.M.: “I took it on its own the first time—huge mistake, because I couldn’t even finish the entire glass. The taste is definitely not for everyone. I tried again the next day and mixed it with some instant coffee, which was so much better. You’ll need something sweet and creamy to mask the taste.”

Did you and/or your partner notice anything different?
S.M.: “Right after taking it, I felt lightheaded and slightly tipsy, but it tapered off after an hour or so. I didn’t feel a drastic surge in desire per se, but I’d say I had a bit more energy and felt a little less tired even if it was a weeknight and I’d just finished a workout. My husband was super curious about it, but didn’t really notice anything different.”

How would you rate it out of 10 (1 - lowest, 10 highest)?

Any recommendations or tips for those trying it the first time?
S.M.: “My realistic advice would be not to expect too much from this product—it’s a boost, not a miracle cure. I think, as with some aphrodisiacs, the effect could be mostly placebo, but at least taking it helps set the mood. The intent is already there, and that in itself could be very sexy!”

2. Teaconcepts Sex Tea, on sale at P630 (limited time only)

This tea is made with a potent blend of 100% natural ingredients including Eucommia Ulmoides Oliver, which is typically used in traditional Chinese medicine used to boost the endocrine system, and Green Tea, which helps promote better blood circulation and increase libido.

What was your expectation before trying this product?
J.A.: “I honestly didn’t expect craaazy results from the Sex Tea. Just the usual effects of aphrodisiacs like chocolate, maca, and the like.”

How did you take it?
J.A.: “We did the deed probably thirty minutes after I drank the tea.”

Did you and/or your partner notice anything different?
How would you rate it out of 10 (1 - lowest, 10 highest)?
J.A.: “I would say an 8! We did it again shortly after we finished the first time. Surely that’s a good sign, right? I think it absolutely helped that the tea is 100% all-natural. Drinking wine (considered a ‘downer’—in more ways than one for males, haha!) or sugary caffeinated drinks like coffee or energy drinks just doesn’t feel the same as drinking the sex tea.”

Any recommendations or tips for those trying it the first time?
J.A.: “I would say to just enjoy your cup of tea. Don’t expect your libido to shoot up right away! It also helps to just relax and go with the flow.”

3. Puritan’s Pride Horny Goat Weed Maca (60 Capsules), on sale at P593 (limited time only)
Often regarded as a natural alternative to viagra, Horny Goat Weed is a Chinese herb that’s primarily used to treat erectile dysfunction. A 2008 study proved that icariin, a component found in Horny Goat Weed, helped stimulate blood flow in the penis—a similar effect with viagra.

This supplement also contains maca extract, which is known as the “viagra of superfoods.” Aside from its slew of health benefits (boosting energy and restoring hormone levels included), it can also enhance sexual libido.

What was your expectation before trying this product?
P.R.: “The name gave it away! I expected that it would help my partner get in the mood. We had given up sex during weekdays because he’s usually so tired after work, so I was hoping that Horny Goat Weed can help fix that.”

How did you take it?
P.R.: “I had my partner take one capsule. We waited for about 90 minutes before we did the deed.”

Did you and/or your partner notice anything different?

How would you rate it out of 10 (1 - lowest, 10 highest)?
P.R.: “8.5 out of 10. Compared to viagra, which my partner tried before, he said that effects were more subtle.”

Any recommendations or tips for those trying it the first time?
P.R.: “Try taking one first. It says to take two but in our case, one capsule already worked! And of course, never ever forget foreplay—taking Horny Goat Weed (or any other pill or product) should not substitute this HIGHLY important part of sex!”
