Celebrity makeup artist Pia Reyes has worked with everyone from Liza Soberano to Iza Calzado. Today, she tells us everything there is to know about Brand Ambassador Laureen Uy’s signature beauty looks.

LOOK 1: SUPER NATURAL

“For a no-makeup makeup look, you don’t really need to put a lot on your face. I like using coral blush to give my cheeks a certain glow and pinkish-nude lipsticks to complete my barely-there makeup.” - Laureen

THE PROCESS BY PIA REYES

Laureen is a no-makeup makeup kind of girl. She’s always on the go, so her everyday look is simple, clean, and no-fuss.
The usual routine to prep the skin is to cleanse, tone, and moisturize. I followed this with a pea-sized amount of Pond’s BB Cream in Beige, which I spread thinly all over her face (skipping the under-eye area). I dabbed Pond’s BB Cream in Light under her eye as concealer and blended it into the skin using my fingers, finishing with a Beauty Blender. These BB Creams have SPF and don’t leave a heavy, sticky feeling.

I then applied a pea-sized amount of Pond’s Dewy Rose Gel to Laureen’s cheeks. After waiting a few seconds for it to dry, I applied Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Candy Coral to the apples of her cheeks using a blush brush. I dabbed the skin again with a damp Beauty Blender for a clean finish.
To add a dewy glow to the skin, I used the I’m Painting Cheek and Light Duo Palette by Mizon. I dabbed the highlighter shade over Laureen’s cheekbones and dusted the darker shade over the apples of the cheeks. It’s actually meant for contouring, but since the shade is subtle, it gives the cheeks a gentle warmth. The palette comes with a flat sponge applicator, and you’ll want to make sure to use one shade per side so the colors don’t get muddy. If you wish to skip the applicator, blend in each product using your fingers, then dab a Beauty Blender over your work.
I filled in Laureen’s brows with a taupe color by Anastasia Beverly Hills (a neutral shade for most brows). I applied a neutral shadow on the eyelids: Cover from Urban Decay’s Naked Basics Palette. Feel free to use your favorite natural shadow; the idea is to have just a wash of color on the lids to keep them fresh-looking. A neutral cream shadow would work, too.

For days when Laureen needs to rush to daytime events, I would apply falsies just to brighten up the eyes. Red Cherry Lashes #747XS are ideal for almost every eye shape. The lash hair length is just right for an effortless daytime look.

Finally, I applied Wet n’ Wild’s In the Flesh, an MLBB shade, to Laureen’s lips. The color of this lipstick is perfect and glides on smoothly.

LOOK 2: HOLIDAY LUXE

“I rarely wear dark lipstick, but when I do, it totally transforms my entire look. I like surprising my friends with a bold statement lip on a night out. Night makeup is very different from day, because you’re going for a certain mood—irresistible lips, stare-worthy eyes, and a long-lasting, party-proof finish.” - Laureen

THE PROCESS BY PIA REYES

For the holidays, the season of Christmas parties and glamorous get-togethers, Laureen likes to bump up her usual makeup routine.
The base makeup for this is pretty much the same as the previous look. I applied a pea-sized amount of Pond’s BB Cream in Beige all over her face, spreading evenly, and some Light under the eyes, extending towards the cheekbones. This helps to brighten up her face without doing any heavy highlighting and contouring. I patted and blended my work with a damp Micro.Mini Beauty Blender, then powdered the T-zone with a little loose powder.

As bronzer, I applied the tan shade in the PRO Studio Tropical Basic Palette to Laureen’s cheekbones (it’s the upper right shade in the palette).
This next step is optional if you don’t have time, but it adds a nice touch. Using my Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette, I blended Combust from lash line to brow bone, and Whiskey from lash line to crease. This creates depth. I also added a subtle contour to the lids by blending Password from the outer corner of the eyes to the crease. I used a fluffy brush to blend all these neutrals together.

Next, I lined Laureen’s eyes with L’Oréal Super Liner Gel Intenza in Profound Black. This deep black liner complements the soft smoky eyeshadow. I added a touch of Pixi by Petra Eye Bright Liner to the inner corners of the eyes for that twinkly, wide-awake radiance. To finish the eyes, I curled Laureen’s lashes, applied Red Cherry Lashes #213, and swiped on two coats of Maybelline Volum’ Express Hypercurl Mascara. Always use waterproof mascara for lashes, real or false!
Finally, I painted Laureen’s lips a lovely plum using Wet n’ Wild’s Sugar Plum Fairy. While others would stick to the bold eyes or bold lips, never-both-at-once rule, I think there aren’t any real rules in makeup except blend, blend, blend.

LOOK 3: OUT & ABOUT

“Whenever I travel, I make sure I always look presentable and fresh because I’ll be taking lots of photos in scenic spots all throughout the day. Tip: Try playing with colored eyeliners instead of the usual browns and grays—you’ll be surprised with the results! I’d totally wear this look on the beach during sunset while I sip on my coconut shake.” - Laureen

THE PROCESS BY PIA REYES

Laureen is always travelling—for work, for pleasure, you name it. On trips where she is attending event after event, meeting with brands and other influencers, and basically expected at fancy places, she does something unexpected. Meaning, she adds a pop of color to her eyes while keeping everything else simple. This move is perfect for people who want to try colored eyeliner or shadow without being too drastic.
First, the base. I started off with a pea-size glob of Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer in Bare, applying it all over Laureen’s face. Then I dabbed her favorite Pond’s Dewy Rose Gel on the apples of the cheeks, waiting for the gel to set before appyling more makeup.

Next, I applied Skimp from the Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 Eye Palette all over the lid with a wide eyeshadow brush. I then used a blending brush to swipe a darker shade, Primal, over the crease to contour the eyes. Whatever eye shadow you use, be sure to blend until you’ve softened all the hard edges.
Like I did with the Holiday look, I brightened Laureen’s eyes by coloring the inner corners with the Pixi by Petra Eye Bright Liner, which is a creamy champagne shade. I lined her upper lash line with the City Color Auto Eyeliner Pencil in Black, tightlining immediately after. I kept it very close to the lash line for Laureen, but you may draw your line thicker if you prefer. Then, the piéce de résistance: I used the Pop Beauty Kajal Pen in Totally Teal to accent Laureen’s eyes, drawing a little cat-eye flick on each side to make that blue-green pop.
For a bold look, I filled in Laureen’s brows, nice and thick, using the Pixi by Petra Brow Duo in Natural Brown. To finish, I curled her lashes and applied Red Cherry Lashes #213.

Then it was just a matter of adding au naturel face color. I applied Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Peach Stain on the apples of her cheeks for a flushed-skin effect—it’s like that glow you get after going to the gym. I layered a matte bronzer over her cheekbones for a subtle tan as well. Two swipes of Wet n’ Wild Balm Stain in Nudist Colony delivered a sheer, creamy tint to Laureen’s lips, and she was out the door!
