It’s September again, the beginning of the fashion and beauty calendar. This month ushers in the thickest magazine issues you’ll see all year, each one stuffed with a spate of stunning trends. Needless to say, we are excited.

We’ve taken our cues from the Fall 2015 catwalks for this -ber month beauty report. Embrace change and adapt these 10 makeup, hair, and nail trends into your routine, stat!

1. MOLTEN METALLIC LIDS

Spotted at: Marchesa, Zac Posen

Eye shadow has gone the route of precious metals—and these are nothing like the ones from your pre-pubescent makeup kit. A wash of copper, gold, or pewter adds instant glamour to your nighttime look. Just look at Anne Curtis—her eyes do all the talking.

We suggest: Sleek MakeUP’s I-Divine Eyeshadow in Del Mar Volume 2

2. BERRY-STAINED LIPS

Spotted at: Marc Jacobs, Emanuel Ungaro

Make like Kim Jones and paint your pout in the moodiest shades of red, purple, or pink. If you find the precision application of deep lip color too taxing, use your fingertip to smudge it through. You won’t believe the unexpected allure of a soft, wine-stained lip.

We suggest: Maybelline’s Velvet Matte Cream-to-Matte Lip Color in MAT6 and NARS’ Pure Matte Lipstick in Amsterdam

3. STROBED SKIN

Spotted at: Valentino, Chloé, Balenciaga

The best way to radiant skin is clean eating, lots of water, and beauty sleep. But if real life has got you struggling, you can fake the glow—that’s what strobing is for! Opt for a BB cream in lieu of heavy foundation so your natural skin comes through, and top it with an illuminator to highlight your features. Claudia Barretto is nailing this look.

4. JAPANESE-GIRL LASHES

Spotted at: Jill Stuart, Carolina Herrera

Eyebrows have had their time in the spotlight—now, the focus turns to eyelashes. The look du jour is dollish, doe-eyed, and wide-awake, like you’ve had eight hours of sleep every day of your life. All you need: mascara, mascara, and more mascara. Maybe some false lashes, too, if you’re feeling fancy. In the portrait by MAC above, J-Pop princess Kyary Pamyu Pamyu offsets her kawaii falsies with a dreamy gaze.

5. NAPE-GRAZING ‘DOS

Spotted at: Dior, Nicole Miller, Hervé Leger

Low-slung ponytails and neck-level buns were all over the runway this season. Surprisingly, these no-fuss styles add a touch of sophistication to daily dressing—just look at Gigi Hadid! Slick your hair down in the front, keep it relaxed in the back, and it’ll take you much less time to get ready in the morning (especially if you skipped shampoo the night before).

6. ONE-TONE MAQUILLAGE

Spotted at: Tom Ford, Preen

Earlier this year, we predicted that monochromatic makeup would hit it big—and we were right! Reminiscent of the ’90s, this tone-on-tone look is made new with sheer washes of warm colors. Don’t Janine Gutierrez and Kelsey Merritt complement each other perfectly with their taupes and nudes? Your NARS Matte Multiple or any other multi-purpose face color will recreate the look. Just use your fingers to dab it on your cheeks, eyelids, and lips, and then (this is important!) blend.

7. FLUSHED CHEEKS

Spotted at: Kate Spade, Michael Kors, Tibi

Not the rosy cheeks of a porcelain doll—more like a post-workout flush. Achieve the look without breaking a sweat by sweeping rose and apricot shades onto the apples of your cheeks. A cream blush will yield the best results because of its melt-into-your-skin consistency. It’ll give people the impression that you’ve attained the flush all on your own, like model Samantha Humphries, who’s coloring makes it seem like she’s been out in the sun.

8. LIVED-IN LINER

Spotted at: Fendi, Lanvin, Monique Lhuillier

The cat-eye we all know and love takes the backseat to her edgy older sister: the kohl-rimmed lid. Sure, you can color within the lines, but the most popular approach seems to be smudged and smoky. It takes guts (and a whole lot of eye shadow primer) to pull this off, but one look at Jasmine Curtis-Smith should motivate you to take the leap. Rock ‘n’ roll!

We suggest: Pop Beauty’s Kajal Pen in Sooty Black

9. MODERN-DAY AUDREY BANG

Spotted at: Louis Vuitton, Yves Saint Laurent, Tory Burch

If you’re looking for change in a big way, now’s the time to get a fringe! It can be wispy or blunt, and worn with long or cropped hair—the choice is yours. But short bangs inspired by the eternal Audrey Hepburn (seen here on model Catriona Gray) are purportedly the newest hair craze.

10. MARBLED MANICURES

Spotted at: Jeremy Scott, Prabal Gurung, Alice + Olivia

Nail art is going nowhere, apparently. But gone are the wacky prints of yesteryear. In their place are more elegant patterns, such as the marbled grain manicure. This does away with brash hues and relegates the wearer to black and white and a few metallics. To us, this kind of nail art looks polished and “adult” without sacrificing the fun of blinged-out fingertips.
