Nowadays, social media fame doesn’t just stop at people—it extends to products as well (Kylie Lip Kit, anyone?). It’s come to the point that we can’t casually scroll through our IG feeds without screencapping at least one selfie of a girl we don’t even know. Why? Because we need that incredible lipstick she’s wearing, gosh-darn-it.
More often than not, these Insta-famous lippies are geographically unattainable or so buzzy that supply is hard to come by (we’re looking at you, Kat Von D). Or, sadder still, they’re out of our budgets. Allow us to save you the heartache (and a few bucks, to boot) with these 10 lipstick look-alikes! Whether your pegs are too pricy or just not found in the PH, these tubes could totally pass for the real deal.
If you like Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Heathers… TRY: L’Oréal Paris Color Riche Star Red Lipstick in Pure Garnet, on sale for P280
Pure Garnet and Heathers are beautiful burgundy shades that are a near-perfect match. The only difference would be the strong red tones running through Pure Garnet and the browner hints found in Heathers. Finish-wise, the L’Oréal Paris formula is less saturated than ABH’s, but an extra layer will fix you right up.
If you like Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Catnip… TRY: NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Prague, P390
Prague has the same purple-pink tone as Catnip and is certainly at par in terms of color payoff and longevity. If anything, NYX’s lippie is a touch edgier—more punk-rock pink than rich rose—but that’s precisely why we love it so much. It also costs way less.
If you like Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Mother… TRY: City Color Be Matte Lipstick in Phoebe, P225
Phoebe is the bullet equivalent of Mother, a liquid lipstick. While the NYX formula might not last from dusk to dawn like KVD’s, it will stay put for hours and fade into a pretty stain. Color-wise, both lipsticks share the same spunky mauve tones.
If you like Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in Wolvesmouth… TRY: OFRA Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Mina, P850
If only Mina had a soft metallic finish, it would be Wolvesmouth’s twin. Compared to KVD’s satin, metallized sheen, OFRA’s berry red is a flat matte—which makes it more wearable, in our opinion. With the serious pigmentation and staying power, we’d even go as far as to say that (gasp!) we like it better than Wolvesmouth.
If you like Lime Crime Velvetines Matte Lipstick in Cashmere… TRY: City Color Creamy Lip Stain in Lavender Drops, P270
You will notice a contrast between these two tubes, because Lavender Drops is more pink, while Cashmere is more gray. However, the warm undertones running through Lavender Drops make it suitable for a wider variety of skin tones. If you can see past the minor difference, you’ll reap the same payoff and lasting power as Lime Crime’s bestseller.
If you like Lime Crime Velvetines Matte Lipstick in Wicked… TRY: Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipstick in Divine Wine, P299
In the tube, there is no telling Divine Wine and Wicked apart. On your lips, it’s a slightly different story: the Maybelline formula has a matte finish, but it isn’t quite as flat as Lime Crime’s. That aside, these two will give you equal drama with their wine-red pop.
If you like MAC Girl About Town… TRY: Wet N’ Wild Mega Last Lip Color in Don’t Blink Pink, P299
Don’t Blink Pink could totally pass for Girl About Town, easily one of the most popular MAC pinks. You’ll have to look very closely to spot the not. Wet n’ Wild’s formula has a flat matte finish, while MAC’s has a luminous sheen, but both offer a cool magenta paint job.
If you like MAC Lady Danger… TRY: NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Morocco, P390
Morocco is an orange-red with warm undertones and a matte finish that won’t budge. Packaging aside, it’s pretty much interchangeable with MAC Lady Danger. And that goes as much for the richness of the color as it does for the staying power of the lipstick.
If you like MAC Twig… TRY: Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipstick in Touch Of Spice, P299
Touch of Spice and Twig are a match made in rosy-brown heaven! As always, the discreet difference lies in the undertones: MAC’s lipstick has a touch of red, whereas Maybelline’s is on the pinker side. Nevertheless, these babies make great MLBBs for morenas, mestizas, and chinitas alike.
If you like Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in Androgyny… TRY: Pink Sugar Lip & Cheek Tint in Queen Bee, P349
Queen Bee is a gorgeous, deep, brownish-rose that is strikingly similar to Androgyny. Dare we say, however, that Pink Sugar’s formula is just a touch more moisturizing? If you’re dying to get your hands on Jeffree’s web-famous lippie, this proudly local tube is the next best thing.
